Broome "booed" at hockey game tonight?

I've been told that the honorable Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome attempted to speak before the hockey game at the River Center tonight, but was drowned out by a less than welcoming crowd.
Can anyone confirm? Any video of it?

Yes. It was El Gaucho in the nosebleeds.

Put me on record as one who would've been booing.

Pray tell, what is this "hockey" and why is it here in Baton Rouge? Is it some new canadian pop group?
Addendum: Hockey is one rung above soccer, maybe less because of the ice. Just watch boxing for the fights and any other sport for entertainment. Broome + Hockey is bile-inducing. TY

It’s an event organized for Broome to puck things up even more than usual.

No video was it was hilarious. She didn’t try to talk but did the ceremonial puck drop and the entire arena booed when she was introduced.

Can confirm.
Wasn’t speaking, just dropping the puck. Loudest boos of the night

There's no video because they tried to sneak her on the ice as fast as they could. As soon as people saw, they cheered with vigor and zeal in appreciation of all of her accomplishments with a loud and proud, "Broome!" I couldn't tell honestly if people were adding the e on the end, but I think they were.

Whatever member of her PR team convinced her that it was a good idea to be there is either a real hero or a real mush brain. Official weaver of the empress’ new clothes

Yea, I wouldn't think she is very popular with hockey fans. Most are employed.

Thanks a lot guys. Now the rest of the games are going to be canceled for “unscheduled repairs”

How many of them even live in BR?
Posted on 12/9/22 at 7:06 am to NOLAManBlog
Baton Rouge is hosting 3 exhibition games for a minor league. The idea is that if these games are well attended, BR might get a team in that league next season.

Mercilessly.
Started before she was even formally announced when some people saw her on the ice.
Got very loud (and widespread) when they did announce her.
