Will the likely improvement of the O Line affect who is QB1 in 2023?

With our O line issues going into 2022, Daniels was the obvious choice for QB.
The O line in 2023 is not going to be as weak. It might actually be a strength of the team. I know Nuss still has issues with being a bit careless, and that can be coached out.
I guess it’s a good problem to have with JD, Nuss and Walker, but I believe the O line will be a factor in who starts at QB next year, just like it was this year.

Two future first round tackles can’t hurt..

The Oline was fine this season and mobile QBs do not offset pressure, getting the ball out on time does.

I concur. O line at beginning of season definitely made Daniels the easy choice for QB1

I wouldn’t say they were fine this year, but they definitely improved a lot.

Time in the pocket wasn't the problem.
What happens when Nuss or other natural passing QBs are flushed out of the pocket? See Nuss when they rushed him. He got out of the pocket, scrambled to the right, and completed a pass downfield.
Daniels instincts are to avoid the rush and run downfield. He needs to keep his eyes downfield as he avoids the rush. Then he can be awesome.

JD held the ball longer than any other SEC QB this year. Some of that is extending plays but the fact remains he had plenty of time all season.

All 3 won’t be on the roster next year.

What happens if it's Walker Howard? I know some on this board think he's best thing since sliced bread. If he wins the job this offseason then you are most likely stuck with a Redshirt Fr starting and a true freshman as the only back up.

I believe Daniel’s is coming back. If that does happen then either Howard or Nuss hits the portal. They aren’t both sticking around to sit another year. I have a bad feeling it’s going to be Howard.

Go get the center from Cincinnati in the portal and another interior lineman to compete with Dellinger, Bradford and Frazier for the 2 starting spots if Zalence Heard doesn’t push for one year one and you’ve got a pretty damn good group with the two tackles another year in. Regardless who it is they will have to prove they will be able to throw it and throw it often. Even if it’s Jayden he won’t be running near the amount he did this year. He will have to read the defense and go through his progressions more than he did this season. It was one read and run for most of the year with him.

Jayden can’t read a defense . Just runs like a deer in the headlights .

I think Daniels will be back for another year. He fits what Kelly wants in a quarterback and I believe Kelly will make him the starter again. Remember Nuss and Howard were not Kelly recruits.

Kelly was trying to flip Howard to Notre Dame before we hired him.

The Oline was fine this season
You are kidding, right?
Kelly bit the bullet starting 2 true freshmen on the outside over what he had in-house.
The other 3 O-linemen? I don’t know how they graded out, but that group wasn’t set for most the off-season - and it wasn’t because they were good. Will any of those 3 sniff the NFL other than free agency?

He and his dad have been thinking long term since he arrived.

They grade out in the top 5 nationally of most offensive line metrics. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
