What is the timeline for that? Will it happen relatively soon or closer to the bowl game?

I would assume before bowl game, if he’s going pro there no way he chances getting further injured

He doesn’t have to opt out of the bowl game to declare for the draft. He can simply decide he’s going pro after the season and make that announcement. That said, I doubt he makes that decision before the bowl game unless his injury prevents him from playing in the game.

He’ll probably get treatment for his ankle the next couple weeks, maybe practice a bit and reevaluate from there.

Danny Etling got drafted ffs. This is a weak QB class, It might be i. JD’s best interest to leave now especially if he believes he could get beat out by Nuss and then has no draft stock whatsoever

I’m glad we had JD. Gave us some good wins this year but now he’s been figured out on how to shut down. Hopefully he declares soon. Play Nuss/Walker next year to season them up for a 2024 run (that on paper with our recruiting and new talent ) that looks very promising.

Will Levis and Anthony Richardson will probably be 1st or 2nd round picks and people are shocked that JD will be drafted at all

If they can draft Anthony Richardson based on athleticism and speed, and they will, they will certainly draft Daniels.

The deadline for declaring early for the draft is the week after the natty title game. A player can declare at any time until then.
