Obviously, the way cancel culture is, everyone of those women should be found out and fired from any job they have today and all retirement taken. That’s the same as black face.

just be happy they don't have their palms together in frong of them, or they're not using their fingers to pull up the corners of their eyes.

The old Chinese Bandits team pic is one of my favorite Non-PC sports pics ever.

It’s one of my all time favorite pics. Not because it may offend, I just think it’s badass

Either Hueng himself, or went Solo without TD

I was a senior in high school in 1958 and attended several Tiger games that season. Nobody left at halftime. If you paid your $4 to see the game, you stayed for the entire game.

Before the 58 season, the stadium filled up only once every two years (for the Tulane game). For almost all other games, the stadium was only about 50% full.

For at least the first half of 1958 season, you could park for free close by at about 7:00 PM for the 8:00 PM kickoff, buy a decent ticket at the box office, get your coke and hot dog and find your seat well before the game started.

Prior to the 58 season, the Tigers sold 9,000 season tickets. Going into the 59 season they sold 32,000. It was only mid-58 season and subsequent seasons that every game sold out.

So for those of us who aren't LSU fans.. what's the background on the photo? Was it the music the band was playing - Chopsticks?

Seems like an odd costume regardless of the time period.

Keep reading the thread. They were paying homage to the guys on the team whose pic I later posted.

Paul Dietzel (our coach who sort of figured out an early work around for platoon football squads) supposedly got the moniker from an old cartoon.

There was a popular comic strip at the time called Terry and the Pirates. Chinese bandits figured prominently in the storyline. They were said to be ruthless and fierce. Somebody pinned that nickname on the LSU defense, and thus the hats, etc.
