LHSAA refs whose season had ended. At the beginning of the game they were explaining the calls, by the end they were yelling at the refs on the field!

They only had about 20 players on 7th & 8th grade team, Uhigh had 55 and beat them by 7 touchdowns.
It was 4 touchdowns and Dunham was winning at halftime. Three starters went down with injuries and with 24 players you can’t replace that. Plus as mentioned earlier they had 8th graders playing up in varsity.

details on these 3?
The three times I saw, TCHS running back, or QB ran right up the middle for a few yards, not a first down and the clock never moved. The coaches, fans and even players were trying to get the refs attention each time.

VC qb is our neighbor.
Kid played a solid game as he is very elusive and gets lost behind the big OL. Can’t be more than 5’7” 150 lbs and he didn’t turn the ball over. Congrats to the VC players, coaches and families.

Tuition waivers are effectively the same exact thing as "scholarships
Someone a while back said that Notre Dame(Crowley) doesn't recruit and give out scholarships but my brother had someone go out and talk to him about his son playing basketball for them and that if he did, he and his two brothers wouldn't have to worry about tuition.

uuuuhhhh, no they weren't..... not in the middle school game at Dunham. I think Uhigh had almost 30 at half.

quote:Well if that happened, the fans are irrelevant because if a fan gets the attention of an official, it usually means they won't be at the game much longer. The protocol is as follows: On the first play that happens the HC lets the official on his sideline(for LCA that would have been head linesman) and informs him the play clock did not run on the previous play, the officials confer and ask GCO what happened and it is corrected. Waiting 3 plays is not the way nor is yelling, screaming and cursing. I have seen it where a game clock did not run on a kickoff late in a qfinal game, the button was sticky all night, the head coach down by 5 points with 2 minutes left was informed that 7 seconds would be run off the clock all was good. the field officials should monitor that the both clocks are running or stopped depending on the situation. The NFHS rule allowing the offended team of a foul determining whether the play clock starts on the snap or ready with less than 2 minutes left in a half - this catches a lot of coaches and most fans by surprise. game clock not running for 3 plays - i'd have to see that to believe it.

quote:How do you know they were a dome crew? half of the crews working games last night were not dome crews.
Dunham vs Lab crew was as Mickey Mouse as it gets.
That crew is going to work a state championship and couldn’t even get basic timing rules correct. All game.
Most egregious one was under 2 min in the second quarter lab trying to drive and the lab QB is brought down by a horse collar. And it’s called.
Well the crew WINDS THE CLOCK and labs drive runs out of time.
Again, a state championship crew from whatever association and they can’t even get basic high school timing rules correct in the SEMIFINALS.

quote:uh nothing here no link, the only videos I've seen are the broadcast views which don't go the the action until late. Flag came from back judge would be nice to see video from that end zone and the whole action once the ball was in the air to see what he saw. Not saying he did, but he could have seen something folks in the stands didn't.
So here is the PI they called on Catholic.
I mean, what?

With all that said I'm really happy for my Dunham friends and their kids. They played extremely hard and smart. I think they'll win it easily in the dome.
Really? Easily against SCC?

They have rescheduled and canceled games due to a lack of referees. Do you think they're going to suspend someone for that if anyone even notices?

They have not cancelled due to no refs, those were schools failing to schedule refs.
Several officials were suspended this year for that very thing. So yeah. It happens.
NFHS, LHSAA, LHSOA and local association by-laws and codes of ethics on criticizing other officials are pretty clear and despite the shortage get enforced.
