Gotta get this in as quick as possible before the new House gets seated. Lord knows, they don't have anything else to deal with. It's not like we have rampant inflation, out of control immigration, crime and murder rates. No, they know how to tackle the important stuff, like trampling morality for the sake of votes.
By the way, here's a list of the 12 RINO'S who voted with 50 Dems, allowing it to pass.
Roy Blunt, MO
Richard Burr, NC
Shelley Moore Capito, WV
Susan Collins, ME
Joni Ernst, IA
Cynthia Lummis, WY
Lisa Murkowski, AK
Rob Portman, OH
Mitt Romney, UT
Dan Sullivan, AK
Thom Tillis, NC
Todd Young, IN

If it prevents another SCOTUS bomb from hitting us in 2024, so be it.

Like we need another reason to despise them.
But this gets all the attention and action.
Respect for childhood innocence coming next?

What does that bill do that’s not already deemed legal?

The RFMA as it stands doesn’t just repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as between male and female, by codifying the Supreme Court’s approval of same-sex marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges.
It goes further by enabling LGBT activists, who have already made a habit of exploiting the legal system to target religious Americans, and the politically motivated Department of Justice to bring civil action against anyone they say violates the terms of the legislation.
Under the guise of vague language, the RFMA could allow for the legal victimization of wedding vendors, adoption agencies, bakeries, and any other entities run by people of faith who refuse to offer services condoning same-sex marriage based on religious convictions.

Is there really any reason to oppose this bill? Some things just don’t seem worth the fight unless there is some hidden BS crammed in that I don’t know about

In order to respect a marriage,
it is a prerequisite that a marriage be in existence.

So now their right to marriage is greater than our right to practice our religious freedoms. I want to see them make a Muslim church marry them in Dearborn, Michigan and force a Muslim restaraunt to cater it as well. Go as hard on them as the Colorado baker.

This is also why they refused to consider Mike Lee's amendment

It basically legalizes religious persecution, so that part makes it unconstitutional and I look forward to it getting thrown out in court. They should have added Mike Lee's amendment.
If you ignore that huge part that makes it unconstitutional and dangerous, it's actually better than the Obergefell ruling. It doesn't force states to issue "marriage" licenses and simply requires them to recognize "marriage" licenses issued in other states.

Useless Republicans can't even figure out how to negotiate anything to our favor. They just give everything away, f*cking useless whores.

From “no one should care what goes on in the privacy of our homes” (Lawrence v. Texas) to this. Moral relativism is the slippery slope of progressives that only leads to hell.

Who gives a shite, the govt shouldn’t be in the marriage business anyway.

You are contradicting yourself. On one hand, this bill gives the government even more authority over marriage, and you say who gives a shite, and then on the other hand you say government shouldn't be involved. Ehich is it?

Can the Catholic Church be sued for refusing to marry a gay couple?

1996: 85-14 DOMA
2022: 61-36 RFMA
What an incredible cultural decline in 26 years. And it’s only accelerating.
