re: Miles or Orgeron: Who would you take?

Cam Cameron's offense was shitty because it was too complicated for most QBs and if you couldn't run EVERYTHING PERFECTLY, he would shut it down to the most vanilla bullshite. It's a terrible system for almost every CFB QB, but Burrow could have run it well.
The question isn't if we could get Burrow, it's what we'd do without Chase on 2019.

I mean O literally didn't. He was not smart and never rose above DL coach for a reason. He's not good at anything other than teaching (outdated) DL technique orchestrated by a superior mind. Aranda was his boss prior to O getting the interim tag.
Did you see his preferred defense in 2020? How did that go?
These are the type of statements that prove how stupid the basic cfb fan is. They actually think they know the game more than a guy who has coached and played it their entire life. Tell me how much more you know about off/def schemes than a HC of a D1 program...the absurdity of thinking you know is what makes you and the others complete fricking idiots. And this doesn't only apply to Coach O it is for ANY HC in major cfb.

Aranda always ran the D while he was here. He had total control over that side of the ball.
How can you say this with absolute certainty? Only a dumbass would make a statement like this.

You think O was butting in on play calls and overriding E/Brady? In 2019?
I definitely think he would give opinions, like any other HC, during a game. You think a HC doesn't tell his OC you have 2 plays to get this first down on a 3rd down for example...which will influence how they call a 3rd down. Quit being such a simpleton.

I'd love to hear a role-play of this scenario. Can you tell us how you would envision O providing Aranda with input on how to run the defense?

Hey Dave the qb has all day we need to get pressure on him.
Insert whatever is going on that is hurting the defense and I can assure you all HC will make suggestions to their coordinators to stop it.
What makes you think this doesn't happen in every game in every level of football each week?

We know this because the goon used every chance he got behind a microphone to tell us that D was more his style

They ate crawfish and stuff, that sold Jeaux!

Wow, great value add by O! Aranda probably left because he felt that he couldn't live up to this type of defensive scheme insight.

I like Orgeron against Georgia. Miles would be way too conservative. And Miles lost to them twice in his tenure whereas Orgeron’s teams won both times.

Man nobody hates former natty winning coaches like LSU fans. Saban, Les and O are all despised here

Miles and it's not even close

the thing is you have no clue what went into game planning or was said on the headsets...but continue to clainm you know how cfb staffs work.
maybe just maybe O was too involved in defensive scheming in first 2/3rds of the season and then DS took back over right? you know when our defense sucked O was involved but when they played well at the end it was all DA

Miles, and by a mile. Miles kept the wheels on for years. He was a good manager of the program even if offensive concepts had long passed him by. The program Orgeron took over was in strong position thanks to Miles leadership. I hate that he turned out to have been such a piece of shite in his personal dealings.
Orgeron was just a shite magnet, and could not manage the organization nor coach the product on the field. As more of Miles's organizational structure was stripped away the program fell into disarray.

Miles coached LSU in 2004? News to me.

Which team would you rather take over, 2005 LSU or 2016/2017 LSU?

Why do we have to speculate? Let's compare defensive performances as a whole pre- and post-Aranda, with the common factor being O.

Why all the hate and bitterness here? After all, they boyh won us national championships. It is not like Curley Hallman was one of the options.

I think DA is a great DC and I thought the D sucked when he left and it turned out it was a terrible hire. Did DA D win us the NT in 2019 or was it the 2 coaches that O put in on the offensive side that led us to that NT?
I really don't care who hired who and who remained on staff etc but the O haters are the ones saying well DA was hired by Miles.

Probably 2005 as gut reaction, but again, "much better"?

God I hate Miles, but he's the very very easy answer.
