Kelly said the team lacked energy in the final 24 hours of preparation going into the game

- Kelly felt like they had a good week of practice and preparation. He said they lacked juice in the game, and that really began in the final 24 hours of preparation leading up to the game. Kelly circled coaching and execution and really everything want to file in there. It was just a complete letdown. He said they didn't overlook Texas A&M. They simply didn't bring the energy needed, they didn't execute and the staff left some things to be desired.
This is what frustrated me the most about the game. How are you not up for this game with playoff hopes still on the line? The team shouldn’t need the coaches to motivate you for this game, there should have been fire inside you on how bad you want this game being ranked #5. For the players to come out flat the way they did was very disappointing.

Maybe the pressure got the better of them.

Lacy dropped two easy catches that would’ve led to points of some sort. Couple that with a fumble from JD and this team never found its groove. Frustrating but it happens.

Maybe they’ve been playing over their heads for 6 weeks and pushing through the flu and other issues and just ran out of gas?

You could tell from the first drive how hyped and into the game the A&M players were compared to ours

That’s the coaches fault 100%

Lack of depth, flu recovery, long season finally caught up to them. Team had flirted with disaster a few times before. Dline was manhandled the entire game.
Doesn't take away from a great first, over achieving season.

Turnover, multiple drive killing drops, late adjustments, untimely bad calls by refs on really big plays all played the biggest part.

Inexperience plus overconfidence?
All I can figure.

All that is secondary to the defense shitting the bed.

One glaring issue I see is that this team does not have a team leader. No one seems to stand out as the follow me guy. Transfers and youth are likely the reason.

This team has been learning and growing on the fly.
It's not unexpected for them to run out of gas a little bit.
Some other folks probably need to put things in to perspective and congratulate the guys for what they've accomplished this year, both on and off the field.

The entire team lacked energy. Defense couldn't tackle and was getting no pressure. Offense dropping passes and fumbling. Special Teams kicking out of bounds on kickoffs.
This game is 100% about the effort given and that falls on coaching. I don't know how a team can't get up for a game that has playoff contention on the line.
It was embarrassing. We looked like a Coach 0 led team Saturday night.

We are an 8-4 team that played way above itself against Bama. We have a ton of transfers starting, we still have a walk on returning kickoffs, we have injuries at key spots etc. We can still beat Georgia, but we have to play our absolute best of the year, and this was close to the worst. We'll be okay, and I'm ready to see where we are in 3 years.

It really seems like BK has been the leader this year. Gotta get everyone aligned you know ;)

I have been wondering if this is the downside of the business like approach all the time. At some point you need to have a killer instinct and go full on animalistic mentality to create energy for a game. That’s not really Kelly’s MO.

Not having Bernard-Converse was huge.

It's unfortunate but hopefully it's just a blip in the radar and this game serves as a turning point for the program. There should be some real hunger from them after that embarrassing performance.

At the end of the USB game my wife and I were standing and waiting for the band to play the alma mater… we looked at the field and the team was already gone… they ran from the field straight into tunnel.. it was cold.. wet .. only a few fans in the stands.. a few hundred student hanging down by the band… I do not blame them… just thought it weird that they did not stop and hang with the few die hard students and band and wave as they went in..
Was just weird and left feeling like checked out.. but if a pis in your cornflakes comment by these arrogant goofballs can not get you motivated .. idk.

Our offense is deeper talent wise than defense.
We should’ve been in it down to the last play going up against mostly freshman.
We never found our groove offensively. Reminded me of the TN game. It is what it is
