He said they lacked juice in the game, and that really began in the final 24 hours of preparation leading up to the game

I haven't seen a swoon like that in a long time. From national darling to being laughed at.

This team was far from prepared. Its very clear they overlooked A&M.

This is what frustrated me the most about the game. How are you not up for this game with playoff hopes still on the line? The team shouldn’t need the coaches to motivate you for this game, there should have been fire inside you on how bad you want this game being ranked #5. For the players to come out flat the way they did was very disappointing.

It is certainly disappointing but, at the end of the day, they're 18-21 year old kids playing a game. It happens. It sucks, but it is what it is at this point. At least he was transparent and didn't try to make excuses about the loss.

There were also very crucial penalties, drops, and a turnover that led to not scoring and/or completely flipping the momentum. Can't do that, especially in a conference game and even more so in a road conference game. A&M has played every game this season close, to both good and bad teams. When you make mistakes like we did, results like Saturday happen

What we witnessed Saturday night was a team that played as if they were left with 38 scholarship players and were relying on a handful of transfers to be key difference makers. Just dominated in all facets of the game. The future is still extremely bright and there is absolutely no reason to press the panic button in Baton Rouge. One game can't and won't over shadow the extremely successful season Brian Kelly had in year one.

That’s the coaches fault 100%

Somewhat, sure

Coaches shouldn't have to motivate players to be up for a potential playoff spot.

Maybe the lack of rotation has them worn the hell out...?

You think that's Sabans approach? No, he a no nonsense guy, who has a business approach about each and every game

Saban brought an element of it in his prime. "Make their arse quit!" and circling Les Miles like a predator pre national title are two examples.

they couldn’t help it, they’re conditioned to be in the mindset of opting out/entering the portal about this time of the year

All that is secondary to the defense shitting the bed.

Completely didn’t show up.
Perkins was a total non-factor.
Muhammad made 2 INSANE catches. Tackling effort wasn’t there.

Take your pick how the defense was a let down. There are many to choose from.

We don’t have a team leader that brings the juice. Burrow had swag and juiced the team up, Devin White, Honey badger, Hester… gotta have that guy who shows up, the spark plug. D was feeding off of Perkins, but he is raw and they game planned him out.

For some reason many posters want to acr like the defense is off limits and doesn't deserve criticism. We can harp on JDs inefficiencies all day, we can harp on dropped passes but at the end of the day defense has to take a bigger part of the blame for this one. They let Achane run right over them repeatedly, House had no answer for it. The d line was getting blown back every play.

On defense, between no one being there and then the ones that were going for arm tackles, I don’t know what the hell was going on.

FFS, ATM scored more points against us than any of their other opponents this season and the closest was Sam Houston (31 points). Next is Ole Miss (28). 38!!! Anyone not looking first and foremost at the defense just isn’t paying attention.

I have been wondering if this is the downside of the business like approach all the time. At some point you need to have a killer instinct and go full on animalistic mentality to create energy for a game. That’s not really Kelly’s MO.

Well just think of the motivation they will have the day Kelly rips off his shirt before a big game. O did it every week, it was just not the same with him.

Do not confuse business like for process oriented, but you cannot win championships on ra ra constantly.

I really don’t understand the need to have Lacy be the primary read on those plays. His hands have always been suspect since back at ULL and in the spring here.
