Plan for slowing down Brock Bowers

I’ve been crunching the tape, and I’ve discovered that Brock Bowers is really good and by far UGA’s best offensive player.
When he’s split out wide, I’d just put Mekhi Garner on him. Garner is a true CB but he’s really big and physical. A good matchup for Bowers.
Problem is, UGA puts that sumbitch all over the field. When he’s in the slot, I’d consider still putting Garner on him and take your chances with someone else on the outside. UGA’s WR don’t scare me. When Bowers is in-line, Micah Baskerville is about the only option. MB is strong in coverage so it won’t be a total mismatch. A lot of chipping from the DE’s will help too.
Contain Bowers, contain Bennett outside the pocket and don’t get gashed on the ground and we have a good shot at slowing them down.

Haven’t watched them much this year, have you? He’s been an absolute wrecking ball since game 1

House will come up with a plan by the second half to stop him

They will just use the 4&8 game plan until we show that we can stop the run.

How long did you crunch the tape before figuring this out?

You cant really slow down Bowers.
I dont think any team really has an answer for that guy.
One of the best TEs to come out in a long time. He can also block his arse off.

Hit him low. That 6’7 TE they have is scary

You’ll have to bracket him with help over the top and hope the others hold up 1v1
Posted on 11/28/22 at 10:31 am to Porter Osborne Jr
And that's just to give you a chance because he'll probably make a one handed catch in traffic with pass interference on the play.
