We do 2 Thanksgivings. My parents at noon and wifes parents for dinner. My middle brother lost his 4 year old child to pediatric cancer earlier this year, and he left town for Thanksgiving this year. Our mom is devastated but understands his reasons, one of which is not wanting to see my youngest brother, who decided it was appropriate timing to air out grievances from the way he was treated when he impregnated his girlfriend at 16 years old shortly after the death of his 4 year old niece, including shaming my grieving mother. If he shows up I may need someone to bail me out.
Wife's family Thanksgiving is not much different. Two brothers that refuse to be in the same room. I'll be good and drunk by the time that kicks off.
Edit for clarity. The teenage pregnancy was 17 years ago, and this was when he decided to bring it up.

Time to knuckle up on your youngest brother...outside away from the drama.

I’m gonna swing by the new girlfriend’s Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow evening. Her family is pretty cool. My trashy contribution to this thread is that the new girlfriend’s divorce is final on the 30th, I actually had to postpone my deployment date by 2 days to “celebrate” this because she wants to get plowed on her divorce day. She even has a bottle of wine that was an anniversary gift from her ex that she wants to drink that night. I think it’s weird to drink her ex hubby’s wine on divorce day personally but who am I to turn down free booze?
Hopefully she’s better looking than Grits

Saw a wise tweet this morning. “I welcome woke comments and rude comments at Thanksgiving. It just means I get to spend less money on gifts for Christmas.”

Well, it’s not even Thanksgiving, and we’ve already had in-laws fricking in-laws, a pig being murdered, and a ton of alcohol being consumed by baws on porches!!!
I feel we’re off to a great start. Much less of 3ways, and outright homicide I’m not sure what’s left to cover!!

This year is ramping up at my inlaws. Last nights meal was chili and we are down to one working toilet for house of 10 people. That one toilet is connected to the living room where everyone has camped out and had movies on non stop. Edit: yes beans are in the chili
Tonight, a young teen neice was in charge of dinner. Its like a right of passage before she's allowed more duties on Thanksgiving day. Well something happened, she paniced at the oven and dropped a glass dish of some meaty gravy casserole. The dish shattered and flung meat juices everywhere even on the ceiling. So now we are ordering take out but we are in the boonies and 45 mins away from anywhere open tonight.
My BIL just showed up with his 140lb pit bull. It immediately sparks argument and now the pit bull is going to stay in BILs small sedan for next 24 hours. He hasnt showered from his construction job and doesnt appear to have change of clothes or plans to shower. Bonus points for this BIL, he has several self performed tatoos including a tattoo he did on his own neck. This is the first time the other BIL has seen that BIL in over a year after a fight.
Everyone is volunteering to make this 1.5+ hour trip to pickup our takeout to get out of this tension and fart filled house.
Cant wait till tomorrow.

You need to put the year in your thread titles

One of my trashy cousins had a mixed baby this past year and I’m interested to see if my grandfather even shows up to thanksgiving because of it.

11 pages before thanksgiving, you’re probably right. We need someone to take one for the team and sneak a bowl full of blank name tags by the door with a sign that says “pronouns please.”

You or any other male in that group can’t fix a toilet? WTF is wrong with yall?

It’s mixed baby’s first Thanksgiving at our place, too. A family member is bringing her baby daddy to dinner with our family. He’s got no job and no prospects, and he’s shacking up with her while she works to pay the mortgage. He should be well received.

He just sleeps there most of the time and fricks her I guess.) the difference is she isn’t bringing him or he doesn’t want to come. Either way at our place it will just be her and the kid

I haven't kept up this year. Any arrests yet?

UPDATE: dad’s girlfriend just spent 3 hours making mini pecan pies. During the baking the sugar dripped down into the (gas) oven and turned the house into a burned sugar stankfest. He nonchalantly remarked “maybe next year we can get a Marie Calendar’s pie”. She is not amused by this insolence.
