If they are law-abiding, tax-paying, good people, why shouldn't their legal right to marry be protected?

Exactly. Doesn't harm a soul. Worry about something else. This train has left the station.

They should have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us.

The Slippery Slope argument is a fallacy and there is no way this will ever lead to genital mutilation of children and drag queen grooming.

Why is this even a priority right now?

Talk about meaningless f*cking virtue signaling.

In 15 years congress will be passing acts that protect beastiality and pedophilia.

Republican and Catholic here, I could give a damn about gays or lesbian marrying.

On the surface yea it looks OK, what happens in someone else’s bedroom is their business, but the Devil is in the details.

Do you remember the queer choir’s singing “We are coming for your children “?

Yep. The same as passing a bill to protect abortion.
Completely out of their legislative duty.

Why is this in the federal governments purview?

My take is that this bill doesn't stop a state from stopping gay marriages, but that they have to recognize those marriages performed in other states.
AND the federal government will recognize gay marriage for any federal laws that deal with marriage.
Seems pretty reasonable.
Please let me know if I am interpreting the law wrong.

Government shouldnt be involved in marriage at all, gay or straight
Posted on 11/16/22 at 5:11 pm to Jjdoc
Don’t care, good for them…. Govt shouldn’t be in the marriage business anyway.
Posted on 11/16/22 at 5:11 pm to Jjdoc
This is pointless. The Supreme Court has already ruled on the issue.

As if that will take 15 years, if we even still have a Congress by then.
