A bipartisan group of senators said Monday they will be advancing the Respect for Marriage Act to codify same-sex marriage.
Sens. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., Susan Collins, R-Maine, Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., and Thom Tillis, R-N.C., issued the statement Monday with complete confidence that the bill will be brought to the floor

Good thing the Republicans won the house despite them being wet dicks. Gridlock and no stupid new laws is good.

Yeah, cuz that’s the issue we’re all most concerned with at the moment,as we try to make ends meet at the grocery store-geez!

Great idea.
Let's codify polygamy while we are at it.

Hmmmm - who do you think they're gonna support in the primaries if both Ron and Don announce they're running?
I wonder.

same-sex marriage
I've always been super conflicted on this issue. On one hand, I believe homosexuals deserve every right that I have as an American citizen. Marry whoever the hell makes you happiest and live your life the way you see fit as long as it doesn't affect me.
On the other hand, I also believe, from a religious standpoint, that marriage should be and IS meant to be between a man and a woman. Sorry to make this a religious thread but I believe God wants us to reproduce and keep the world that he made going. A man and man or a woman and woman simply can not do that.
That said, if I had to choose between same-sex marriage and same-sex couples adopting children to raise in this world, I'd settle on same-sex marriage 100% of the time because I simply can not support two men or two women raising a child together. A child needs the nurturing of a mother and the tough love of a father in order to grow and mature into a well-rounded individual prepared to take on the world. Children need both figures in their lives.
Downvote away, I know y'all want to.

Leave it to states
The same crowd that said that Congress should have codified Rowe are now whining that Congress is codifying Obergefell.
Clown world.

That's not an irrational viewpoint. If you believe abortion is not a "constitutional" issue, thus the basis for overturning Roe, then the same argument could apply to same-sex marriage. Meaning NEITHER should be codified by congress.

The same Republican Reps that said that Congress should have codified Rowe
