another angle

was the smaller plane a P-51?

That made it look like the smaller plane had its belly to the bomber.

P-51 couldn’t see at his bank angle. Terrible coordination

That’s the second airworthy B-17 lost in the past 5 years or so.

Not sure how many more are air worthy.

I am sure there are a lot sitting in museums but seeing one fly over is amazing.

9 I think.

Edit: Wiki says 9 too, but who knows if that's true.

That 2nd angle makes it look like an accident as he was following the flight path of the other P-51 or P-63s. That fireball tho…..geez

Someone said the Pilot of B-17 made it out….can see how

smaller Plane was above the bigger plane and may have not seen him below him . Smaller plan started to turn into a bank and basically dove right into the bigger plane below. RIP.

It was the Texas Raiders. Saw this very plane in 2019 at Chennault.
Have also been in the other B-17 that crashed few years ago.
The B-17 always held a special place in my heart as a kid watching Memphis Belle with my grandpa. Sad to see loss of life and one less flying
