Facebook Parent Meta Is Preparing to Notify Employees of Large-Scale Layoffs This Week
Wonder if leftists will cry about this like they did Twitter

Meta Platforms Inc. META 2.11%increase; green up pointing triangle is planning to begin large-scale layoffs this week, according to people familiar with the matter, in what could be the largest round in a recent spate of tech job cuts after the industry’s rapid growth during the pandemic.
The layoffs are expected to affect many thousands of employees and an announcement is planned to come as soon as Wednesday, according to the people. Meta reported more than 87,000 employees at the end of September. Company officials already told employees to cancel nonessential travel beginning this week, the people said.
The planned layoffs would be the first broad head-count reductions to occur in the company’s 18-year history. While smaller on a percentage basis than the cuts at Twitter Inc. this past week, which hit about half of that company’s staff, the number of Meta employees expected to lose their jobs could be the largest to date at a major technology corporation in a year that has seen a tech-industry retrenchment.
Oh and frick Zuck

Seeing some titles of those let go from Twitter, I imagine that Facebook has as many or more useless employees as Twitter has/had.

Imagine shaping and censoring thought on everything from Covid to Hunter’s laptop and every leftists Democrat talking point in-between only to have your Cush job terminated by the very diaper wearing, ineptitude that you championed.

I bet Zuck wishes he had all that money back that he handed out for election engineering
Mainly because he now realizes that with Trump re-elected tech would still be cruising. Instead ya got Facebook, Google, Netflix and Twitter housing folks, 2 years in

Millions who despise Zuckerberg and his political meddling will rush to their Facebook page to discuss this.

Will these soon to ex-employees be filing lawsuits the day before getting fired like they did Elon?

I had this discussion with a Biden apologist last night.
"You do know Twitter is losing $4m/day".
"Um yeah they're about to get rid of half their staff."
"How can they do that and still operate, Elon is a joke"
Next day, FB says they are cutting back hard. Of course the left will not freak out about this one, that's (D)ifferent.
Any of the big tech companies are riding a wave of tremendous revenue and using that cash to fund all kinds of speculative ventures. That's why Facebook rebranded to Meta and Google rebranded to Alphabet. To let the stockholders know that it's more than just posting pictures of a dog on a skateboard.
Too bad it hasn't worked out. Facebook is a very sticky version of Flickr and they made billions. Ride the wave and go home. It's not the next General Electric or General Motors. Any success since the original platform (IE Instagram or Whatsapp) was a purchased company, not organic growth.
