Crazy that their team is so devoid of talent but to breakdown the number players they shipped out that are helping teams beat them.

Ingram, Hart, Nance, Caruso, clarkson, Randle, Ball, Kuzma, Zubac. They have an excellent scouting dept apparently but poor upper management to cut this much talent loose with nothing to show for it….

Their biggest problem is a complete lack of patience.

Which is expedites any rebuilding plan because they have an insatiable lust to have a star on the roster.

Well it makes sense considering their model is to bring in as much talent as possible. They just keep recycling. Other teams find a talented core and recycle around that core.

D’Angelo Russell too. Lakers traded all of that plus their future for Toni and a 35 year old has been.

When the Jerry West era as GM ended they became a bitch organization. LeGM and Klutch just swooped in there and shite all over that franchise. It’s horrific how they are run now.

I have leftover fondness as a Shaq (lsu) and later Kobe era Lakers fan. That’s the horror part. As a pelicans fan for sure it’s been amazing to watch.

Bingo

AD was Lebron/Klutch’s bitch.

Wait a year and walk to the Lakers and we are living in a timeline where the Lakers are a dynasty yet again.

Thank god Jerry Westeft and the rest of that organization is a shite show though. Our gain

Well this whole exercise is pointless if you're assuming they're still a 33 win team last season.

If you add Dyson to the mix, then you can't make any argument that their trade was anything but successful for the Lakers since they wouldn't have won a title without it, and if not making the trade still made them a bottom 10 team this season, then they'd have legit nothing to show for it.

That’s always their argument but I think most of them if given truth serum would gladly take giving back that Micky Mouse ring for the chance at having back all the players they gave up and Infinitisimal small chance beta-AD wouldn’t just sign with the Lakers a year later

It’s funny how some ppl who defend the Lakers move use the “well they won a title, it was all worth it”.

That simply is not true bc the plan was never to be this bad at any point in the process. They are a legit bottom 5/7 team right now.

Exactly

If the moment the trade was made, you told a Lakers fan you get a title in year 1 then not only is the run over but you become completely irrelevant and even the laughingstock of the league for years after that.. I highly doubt a Lakers fan would be like, "Heck Yea, sign me up for that!!!"

I don’t think they win that championship if it wasn’t shortened. Their roster was not built for a long season season for the same reason as now. Older very top heavy roster construction with limited depth. So they benefited greatly from the rest period, abbreviated structure, and limited travel. They have handled the franchise poorly and only got lucky with the mid-season modification.

lakers had three consecutive #2 picks
Russell
Ingram
Ball

Russell kind of ran himself out of town and they traded him for Lopez and kuzma. Then got nothing when Lopez left and traded kuzma for Westbrook

so the net from 3 straight number 2 picks, plus a #4, a #8, hart, KCP and 2 picks yet to come is Westbrook and Davis and the pels 2023 1st

If they did nothing, they could be sitting on BI and Garland to run with LeBron

And Toní. Whether people want to play revisionist history or not, he was going to L.A. in FA.

And that’s exactly what I try to explain to all these people holding on to the “don’t want to waste a LeBron year“ mentality. And in not wanting to waste one year of LeBron, they’ve wasted his last two years, traded away potential all star and all star players, and their future in draft picks. And LeBron has extended now for two more years, think those will get wasted too? But hey, not wasting that one LeBron year got them a championship. But it could have been at the expense for multiple.
