Diet and exercise work for some but on the public health level, it’s not a realistic approach. Any other treatment strategy with as low of an efficacy rate would never be approved.

There are very few people that diet and exercise would not work for.

Self indulgence leads to bad things. Social engineers are horrible humans

Affirming someone's dysfunction is not helping a single person. It works counter to"helping."

Self discipline is where self ownership occurs. It's a process.

And tirzepitide (Mounjaro) is even more effective. If there is a medicine to help people move from morbidly obese to just plain fat why not incorporate it?

its not that much beter but yes it is better but its not technically approved yet i dont think. I think difference was avg of like 3% more weight loss.

until then, best bet is glp-1 combined with AOD if patient can stand daily injection or glp-1 with ghrh/ghrp combo and if heart healthy epherdine/caff stack to raise metabolism.

but yea why would you not prescribe somehting that could help the cause and not just treat symptoms? dumb not to.

Lazy people prefer a societal approach, as they cannot process and implement anything as individuals.

while i agree with your sentiment...this is a dumb way to look at it and you should really be much more open about prescribing the glp-1 compound.

I have been prescribing Mounjaro a lot these days as well.

They really do work.

If a person was put on an island like in castaway and all they could eat was fish and fruit, they 100% would lose weight

The problem isnt they don't work. The problem is too many lifestyles make them difficult to sustain.
there is no lifestyle out there that requires you to overeat

I agree and the labeling of obesity as a “health condition” is a perfect example of that. They’re deflecting the problem away from personal responsibility.

They want obesity to be thought of as something you catch, not as something you did to yourself.

The abdication from personal responsibility in this society is at an epidemic level.

At least they're saying obesity is a bad thing. Lately, we've been hearing that fat is beautiful and a lifestyle or whatever.

Are they? Sounds like they are saying it’s out of their control so we shouldn’t shame them.

Lol. What a load.

I quit drinking and started keto. Dropped 30 lbs in 3 months.

Then started going to the gym 3 times a week, lost another 50 and put on 20 lbs of muscle in about 5 months.

If I stopped my routine and went back to shitty food and not working out, I’d gain it all back in 3 months.

frick the fatties. I lost 70 pounds on Keto in six months going from 230 to 160. I have not gone above 175 since then. If I hit 170 - weighing myself every week - I go back on Keto. Since then, I splurge less and moderate my what I eat and drink during the week. I also gave away all my fat clothes as I lost weight. There was no turning back. Since losing the weight, I have started hitting the gym.

It's not rocket science. It just requires self-control, which is a skill few few people possess these days.
