We got one a month or so ago for our oldest that goes to public school. I think we got around $400 for the 2 months they were out for the summer. Last time I used the Sams app for Scan and Go I noticed they had a pay with EBT option. I typed the card info in and was able to use it that way. Never had to take it out of my wallet.

Yes we got one for almost $400. I love how they say it’s for summer meals but it just happens to get sent out right before the election.

You're not wrong. My church used to give out backpacks full of food to kids on Fridays, but stopped when they learned the kids were trying to eat as much as they could on the bus on the way home or else they wouldn't get any of the food once they got it home. What kind of low-life human garbage not only doesn't feed their kids, but steals their kids' food should they get some through other means? (Rhetorical question; no answer needed.)

I agree. People get upset about the food EBT stuff, but it still makes up a small percentage of overall tax dollar spending. I get way more upset at other wasteful spending, but that's just me. If they are offering the food money then I would use it. I understand those who don't though.

Yes we got the EBT Card today and my wife was fricking unhinged that we received this. $400 per kid with no income restriction is absurd. I do extremely well financially (top 1% of the top 1% in Louisiana) and there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever that we should have been eligible for an EBT card.
A no income restriction is one of the most wasteful things the State of Louisiana could have done in handing these benefits out for nothing other than to try and gain political favor with voters.

Yeah, and this was in a predominantly white very rural area. My church was caught by surprise, as was I despite being old and cynical af. Trash people gonna be trash people. It's not just an urban problem.
