No sane person could justify that behavior.

Follow an opponent into their locker room talking shite.
Home and vistor locker rooms are both accessed via the same tunnel. Might’ve been talking shite but his locker room was down the same tunnel too

Gemon Green's dad explains why he was in tunnel early

quote:

Gemon always goes to the locker room almost immediately.
Why? His dad who is a trucker from Texas comes to every game.
The quicker he gets dressed, the sooner he can leave after Harbaugh addressed the team because he can shower and dress before everyone else, then leave to be with family while others are still in uniform waiting for Harbaugh to address entire team.
He was walking up the tunnel holding his helmet. Maybe he was talking smack, maybe not, dad claims not...
When someone, apparently #14 pushed him in the face then started whaling on him. Gemon tried to cover up with his helmet.
Concussion and facial cuts as we know. Very emotionally damaged too.
Dad says he hasn't slept since seeing the video Saturday night. Flew home Sunday night. Been crying with his wife.
Dad says Gemon is in very bad mental shape, doesn't even know if he'll play again (seems a bit drastic to me but I am not in their shoes)
Said it has been heartbreaking for him, his wife and kids (you all know brother is on the team too) to see Gemon being attached on Twitter for being in the tunnel unnecessarily
Tried to get answers from police in the tunnel but they would not talk with him. Just told him to go home.
Did mention he was upset about apparent lack of security
There is more but that about sums it up.

So can someone explain HOW he got in them middle of ALL those guys???

Talking crap gone wrong?

I have nothing to back it up. But my view is that the Michigan player definitely went up to the MSU guys talking trash and bragging. He wasn't just walking along minding his business and got attacked out of nowhere.

That being said, trash talk is not an excuse to jump somebody. They are still very much in the wrong

Where do you see this? In the video posted he was skipping, raised his hand for a high five in the crowd, and when he joined the crowd of players headed for the tunnel, he put his head down and seemed to continue jogging along, no sign of any antagonizing any of the opponents while he was doing so.

We have zero, count it ZERO, video evidence that he did anything to incite what happened to him. The only thing people can say is "he PROBABLY did this" or "he PROBABLY did that" but there's not a shred of evidence of it anywhere. We see a video of him going to the locker room where he never did anything to rub it in the other team's face, and then we have multiple videos where we see a 10 on 1 beat down, using a helmet against a helmetless player, and then when he finally gets away from the crowd he gets as far away from them as he can. He never fights back, he just gets beat down senselessly by a pack of Michigan St players.

Why anyone can see all the video evidence we have accumulated to this point and still try to frame it as he was some kind of instigator or was "asking for it" or was "trying to start shite" as if there's some kind of justification behind it is beyond me.

Sort of the “I’m not responsible for my behavior” defense

That video does not even show Green. Number 1 was skipping. 33 looked back and was walking. Maybe he was the guy walking in the bottom left. Green is 22.

The same tunnel is used by both teams. The locker rooms are across from each other.

This has been a big problem for years, he should sue the university, I bet he'd get a few million thrown his way.

The idea that CFB players are such uncontrollable ogres that it is the stadiums fault for their behavior is laughable.

And won't do well in court.

It's not unheard of for teams to get into fights in tunnels though. LSU and Miami got into it in the Peach Bowl for example.

The questions about how this happened are good ones. This wasn't everyone on everyone. How did these guys get separated from their teams?

That doesn't change anything else. So many people can't handle anything but absolute thinking.

I'm just going by the most likely outcome.

As a former athlete, players don't just immediately start fighting after simply seeing someone from the opposite team. Over 95% of the time, either one or both parties are trash talking.

I could be wrong, and I am willing to admit where I'm wrong. But truth be told we are all speculating off of limited information.

It's fairly easy to take past history and decline to give benefit of the doubt because we have "zero video evidence."

Harbaugh has been pulling this shite since he showed up, then playing the victim when they get what they get.

The Michigan State players will be rightfully punished, but anyone thinking poor Michigan is an idiot.

Mcburroughs #1 is the one in the video that they show fighting.

But the Michigan team didn't go into the locker room. It was the Michigan State team going first, and just a couple of random Michigan players that went in at the same time.

It's not a fair question in terms of a reason why the 2 UM dudes were being swung at with helmets when they did not have helmets on, but in general, it's a fair question to at least ask or wonder why immediately after a skirmish occurred on the field did those 2 UM players go directly to the locker room when it was clearly only MSU players were in the locker room.

IIRC, he was an injured player going in for treatment.

This. Mich St players are definitely at fault, but this motherfricker was definitely asking for it. How was the rest of the Michigan team able to get into the locker room well before Mich St except for this player. He put himself in this situation on perhaps and then ran his mouth. It doesnt make it right that Mich St responded the way they did and they should be held accountable but so should this Michigan player who clearly asked for this. There is no accountability in this world anymore

The fricking irony in this statement. The blame does not lie with the inanimate object (in this case, the tunnel). The blame lies with the pieces of shite who went 10 on 1 swinging helmets at a guy. There is not a thing in the world he could have said to deserve that.

You're a piece of shite if you blame the tunnel for this. Personal responsibility is being removed from society and it is so stupid.
