Been 7 months since the sniffles, tested negative 4 times w/3 different tests, and then lost all taste and smell. That was in March.

It's now almost November and still virtually no flavor in anything (only sweet, salty, sour etc) and no smell of anything other than point blank in a forrest fire or lemon grove.

Been to local doc, and talked to a P.A, and they both basically said: "We got nothing."

Soup and crackers forever more? Or is it salvageable at all?

How many different tastes do you think there should be?

Sensory nerves can take forever to heal. I once lost most sensation in my legs for around 2 years after taking strong antibiotics to fight off a sepsis infection. Sucked but it eventually came around

The media tells me that happens to younger folk. Me thinks they just bitch more online.
I've never been that sensitive to smell, but hopefully it will return to ya.

Those are senses, dumbass. Flavor is entirely different.

What about a lemon grove on fire

Probably divine punishment for insisting on using the affront to grammar that is “China virus”.

Try Flonase.

Pubmed

Although I think the patients in the study used it while infected maybe so I don’t know how it would do so much later. But if I didn’t have taste/smell I would definitely be trying anything.

Coke products still don't taste right to me, it has been over a year. There is also some common fragrance used in a bunch of body wash, perfume, deoderant, etc. that now is all I can smell in those. Not sure what it is, but they all smell the same now.

Probably just smell and not taste loss. Smell makes up a big component of what we “taste”.

I have heard this exact same thing too. Coke doesn't taste right, and body washes/perfumes are horribly pungent

I once lost all taste for about a week after burning my tongue really badly on some overheated food out the microwave. Everything tasted like paper. It was awful but luckily passed relatively quickly.

yea, I did some research and saw a bunch of people with similar issues. The coke stuff just has a really weird chemical taste to it now. No issues with like Dr. Pepper or Pibb though. It didn't start until a few months after recovery, which was odd, but it has persisted ever since.
