Astros fans, when did you become a fan...?

As a kid in the 70's, I think it was WGSO 990AM, use to broadcast Astros games, where my brother and I would listen to them at night. We actually made a few series in the dome... Seeing that home run board light up as a kid was something I'll never forget.
Going back to the Ceasar Cendeno, Jose Cruz, Roger Metzger, Don Wilson Days.
1980 with that awesome pitching staff.. Nolan Ryan, Vern Ruhl, Joe Niekro, JR Richards, Joaquín Andújar, only to lose to the Phillies in their first NLCS...
1986 Losing to the Mets in game six of the NLCS killed me.. Game 5 went 12 innings and game 6 went 16 with Mike Scott slated to pitch game 7... No one was touching Scott all year.
2005 Then getting swept by the White Sox in their first series appearance...
These have been some goods times now for sure...

When I was a young boy. My uncle lived in Houston so we would visit him and go to games if they were playing at home. Also would go to Astroworld, the Galleria, and NASA space center. Was pretty lit for a kid from small town CenLa
Edit: around the early 2000’s. Yeah I’m young lol

My parents were both Astros fans so that's who we watched when I was young. They took me to several games in the early 80s on trips to Houston, then we moved there in 1988. I went to probably a dozen games per year at the Dome in the 90s, and stayed a fan after moving back to Louisiana for college.

I was born and raised in the NW Htown burbs (Klein), dad took us to games in the dome every season all throughout the 80s and 90s. Only MLB team I’ve ever been a fan of.

Mid-Late 90s. 10 or 11 years old. My grandparents lived in Houston at the time and they would always bring us.
My grandmother would always bring a book to read while the game went on.
When they moved to Enron, my grandfather was high up in his company and they had suites. So we saw several games from that spot including the all star game and HR Derby.
When the Astros won in 2017 my grandmother had just passed away in April. It was a cathartic bittersweet moment seeing them win and her not being around to read a book during the games.

My parents took me to a game when I was 4 in the astrodome. It’s why I love the Astros and why I hate the Braves. My wall as were plastered with Biggio and Bagwell posters after that

My dad brought me to the Astrodome all the time when I was young. I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m so glad my dad can see the Astros become a force like this

Born in 93. My uncle worked for NASA so we’d go visit and go to games. My first game was during the first season at Enron. No other local teams around, so it’s been all Astros ever since.

1999 is when I went to my first game at the Astrodome.

The earliest I remember was in 1985. Saw the Bad News Bears movie where they end up at the Astrodome and have been a fan ever since then. First loved the teams with Mike Scott, Glenn Davis, Jose Cruz, and Billy Doran.

high school in lake charles. they were the Colt 45s.
A Lake Charles radio station carried the st Louis cardinals before houston got the franchise.
and we got random day games on the Mutual network.
astronauts would have been the better name for me than Astros. what's an astro?

Family moved to Houston summer of ‘79. First day there was a Cubs/Astros day game on WGN and the rest is history. Bagwell is my favorite player and I was fortunate enough to be at Ryan’s 5th no hitter against LA in ‘81.
