How is Marcus Freeman recruiting so well despite the dumpster fire of a season he's having

It makes absolutely no sense. The guy has top 5 recruiting classes for 2023 and 2024. I don't get it. Is he just offering immediate starting spots to recruits because their team is so garbage?

Recruiting and signing are not the same thing.

I'm sure he'll have some kids decommitting eventually if program keeps ranking.

ND could have a way bigger NIL consortium than Texas arse to mouth

But they still have grade constraints

LSU has a top class despite having two terrible seasons back to back

Talk to me after NSD when they plummet. They’ll start dropping like flies. Their staff was young, promising and got the commitments early. Turns out they suck. Lots of their guys recruitment is still open. Heat will turn up on ND.

It doesn't even matter if ND has good recruiting classes. I won't take them seriously until they join a conference and get a competent athletic director who doesn't let players and fans dictate who the coach will be. But of course all of the precious ND alumni who are employed in the media networks love to hype this team up as something there not, every damn year. One of the most overrated and overhyped sports programs that hasn't done shite in 34 years.

I was listening to the stars matter podcast on The Athletic, and they made some good points about how big of a misconception it is that results are everything

OU and ND are both top 3 in recruiting because their coaches are selling them on how it’s the first year and they need to build a culture and they need you to step in day 1 to make them better

Kids these days are impatient and want playing time asap and they are more likely to start day 1 on a bad team

Most of ND’s recruits were committed before Freeman set the dumpster on fire

ND has always recruited well, didn't take much effort.

Now with NIL and substantial donor money and church reserves.

Only may see some decommits when ND loses 6 games this season.
