Abject losers who tried to saddle LSU with another Ed-esque hire.

Obvious isnt always immediately Obvious. “Esques” yes. He’s light years better than Ed in many ways though.

Proven versus a gamble. We just weren’t in a position to gamble.

I'm glad we won, the Swamp is always a tough place to win. That said, I think it's a bit premature to go all in on either Kelly or Napier being great/terrible.

I'm not gonna laugh at them.

I was anti Napier and believe we hired a better coach and a proven one but let's see what hapoen 3-5 years down the road before we crown him a failure and Kelly a success.

Kelly is a good hire, Napier will succeed, IMO.

There were quite a few people after week 1 that said here’s all the proof you need that Napier was a better hire than Kelly. Florida beats a Top 10 Utah team & LSU loses to an unranked Florida St. team. Maybe Napier will be a better hire than Kelly, I cannot predict the future. But at this point I do know this for sure: Kelly 1 Napier 0.

IT’S GREAT TO BEAT THE FLORIDA GATORS!!!!

I'm thrilled with Kelly and was never for all the hire Napier stuff but I do believe he's gonna do well at Florida. LSU just had to have a proven guy to be able to rebuild this program. Going for the up and coming guy is what made Tennessee irrelevant for 15 years. We couldn't afford that chance after O. Napier is a good coach though and I think he will have success there.

Shame on LSU for not hiring that lifelong Louisiana guy, with all his Louisiana HS ties and whatnot

I do think Napier will do fine at UF.
He needs time as well to establish a program. With that said… he wasn’t the right choice for LSU. BK was the better hire, no doubt.

Wont know for sure which hire was better until a few more years from now but Kelly is a proven commodity at the highest level while Napier only had UL-Lafayette to hang his hat on. Maybe Napier brings Florida back to national prominence, but I think Kelly knows what he's doing.

We just need a surefire higher at the time and couldn't afford to take a Gamble on someone like Napier though I do think he's pretty solid coach and in Long Run probably would have been as good a hire as Kelly

Some great Napier threads if you want a trip down memory lane. luciouslou and guttata were by far the biggest Napier stans.
