Went there last night, has been a couple of years since I've been.

Seafood platter with 5 oysters, 5 shrimp, fish, stuffed crab and fries--$28.95

Same as above but soft shell crab instead of stuffed crab--$35.95

I know it's not fine dining, but everything served on paper plates.

Fried seafood was good.

None of what you listed seems unreasonable considering how all prices everywhere have gone up.

Seems like both have been around that price for years.

Maybe they are short-staffed? They did use disposable stuff right after they reopened during Covid, but I'm pretty sure they had stopped last time I went.

R&Os is great for what it is. I also don’t find those prices unreasonable. Crab is extremely expensive. I like everything there even the rude waitresses. It’s part of the nostalgia.

For casual dining that is not burgers, it is my #1.
Their French bread is the absolute best
Their Italian Combo is the best red gravy po-boy
Their roast beef is the best
Their R&O special is the best
Their onion rings are the best
Their pizza is good
Their fried seafood is good
Their Italian salad is good

God, I love R&O's

So do I. I love the muffalatta. Their olive salad has a little kick to it.

Many times, I've gone their on my way out of town and bought some things that are packed to travel.

I don't think I've ever had the tamales there, but they look good in that sauce. How are they?

Went to Short Stop in Metairie yesterday for lunch before Chalmette game.

I had a 9 in roast beef dressed, wife has a 6 in (no pics / that’s what she said), we split a large fry and each had a bottle soft drink. $26. I was pleasantly surprised.

Wife’s family loves that place.

To me it’s not worth the prices or the wait times.

Always found their red sauce to be waaay too thin / watery.

We went a few weeks ago and it was plastic plates, like the restaurant grade ones - just like it was pre-Covid
