Sounds like he's trying to taint Desantis. Desantis would need a decent percentage of maga voters to win the GOP nomination if he runs in 2024. Having a swampy frick like Ryan endorse him is akin to having a Liz Cheney endorse him... and turn off a lot of maga voters.

Granted, there's still plenty of time between now and the 2024 election. Desantis may continue doing great things that win over maga voters and make them not give a frick about who endorses him.

Ryan and the RINO clutch of Never Trumpers just want to make trouble for Trump. He was weak even for a RINO.

Interesting to single out a place where Trump was nearly tripled up by Biden.

I literally laughed out loud. Paul Ryan has an extremely punchable face.

Coveted?

Only the GOPe are impressed with Ryan. His name mentioned as an endorsement is the kiss of death.

I don't know what his plan is, but whether or not he's running in 2024, DeSantis should publicly reject Ryan sooner rather than later.

I'd go so far as to advise him to utterly humiliate Ryan.

That would be good for RD from a "political perspective".

First of all anyone who likes and trusts Paul Ryan is not worth talking to. But don't place this bet. We will never see Trump and DeSantis on a GOP primary stage.

The establishment would NEVER come out of the closet like this---- with Paul Ryan that was booed off a stage in Wisconsin (Especially before midterms) If they were not assured Trump won't be allowed near DC again.

Is it your point the swamp is deep and rich people and corporations want to be on the winning side no matter what?

The point is to post one data point in a succession of data points so far concerning the establishment capturing their favored GOP candidate.

The reason why the establishment hates Donald Trump is due to policy issues on borders, trade and war. It has nothing to do with mean tweets. In fact they use mean tweets to get suburban wine moms to vote against Donald Trump.

Meanwhile they can get their stooges in to implement weak border policy for cheap labor, negotiate trade giveaways to China and start wars to enrich MIC.

Do you not see this? It's plain as day to me but it seems to be obscure to everyone else.

Didn't David Duke endorse Donald Trump, even though Trump doesn't appear to agree with Duke's racist agenda? That was the argument to brush away the leftist media attacking Trump merely based on who supported him being President. But now conservative pundits want to be able to cast a negative light on DeSantis merely because Paul Ryan thinks he'd make a good President? Dumbasses.

I understand your point but I think you’re missing a key factor in this:

David Duke has zero influence. He brings nothing. He brings no money. He never gets a meeting.

Paul Ryan, while a born loser and a career political establishment gimp with diminished influence, still nonetheless has influence. And that influence is with the inner ring of the GOPe. Ryan brings the GOPe power and influence. He brings money. He gets meetings. He wants something in return and that is influence of the GOPe priorities in a future Desantis Administration. And those priorities are not good ones. They do not entail reform and accountability of the DoD, FBI, CIA, NSA, America First trade policies, rejection of Neocon expeditionary war and interventionist foreign policy, border security, etc.

I’d go so far as to say that on a Presidential campaign, Desantis does not pass go thus does not collect $200 without “the MAGA vote”. I use italics there specifically to say he’d need a good and clear majority of that segment who support Trump above any other, as long as he actively in the game be it as candidate or campaign “organizer”. Run afoul of Trump as a Republican candidate particularly for POTUS, and you may as well save your money.

Just want to point out two important and interesting (not good or bad) comments from the comment section in the OP:

quote:

Please everyone read this article: LINK It describes how DeSantis is likely to convert use his massive “Florida Governor” (gough) campaign stash for his presidential run. Technically not allowed to do that but the FEC looked the other way in the case of another candidate who engaged in a similar action.

quote:

Also take a look periodically at the Florida Campaign Finance records for donations to DeSantis. Anyone donating to him now is donating to his presidential run even though he’s technically not allowed to convert this money over to his presidential run.

LINK /

Skip the Candidate Search section and scroll down to Committee Search. In the Committee Name field enter “DeSantis” and select “With Committee Name Containing”. (The Committee name is “Friends of Ron DeSantis (PAC)”) You can fill in more filters like contribution amounts and number of results and sort by date.

I find it interesting to limit the search to contribution exceeding $100k. Florida doesn’t have contribution limits for state candidates which makes this incredibly unfair if he later uses this money for his presidential run, because presidential contributions are severely limited.
