Lots of great, Lots of really bad

Better than the lineup this year but I'll pass

also, I thought Saves the Day were #metoo'ed

also, AJJ being on this lineup is both interesting and weird but whatever

Lots of dudes are gonna be looking like the firestarter from The Prodigy with balding spikey hair.

The festival should have been presented by IPA Beer. No particular brand, just “big hop” industry.

Dream line up for me. Green Day got me into rock. Then slid over to Blink afterward. Then slowly discovered offspring, GC, Yellowcard, Sum 41. In the last year I’ve gotten into thrice, motion city soundtrack, and pierce the veil.

yikes indeed! that's a mashup of the most fraudulent genre of music to come out of the 90s.

good bands I would see from that lineup:

Thrice
say anything
saves the day
mxpx
turnover
goldfinger
movie life

the teenager inside me would be all over this

Cringe. Never understood the appeal for pop punk

I feel like you kinda had to be at the right age for it when you heard it first for it to resonate. Much of pop punk is about unrequited love, broken homes, suicide, depression, and general teenage angst. It’s sorta unserious, silly, vulnerable, and emotional all at the same time, like a class clown that cracks jokes because he’s really sad inside.

I can imagine someone listening to pop punk for the first time at age 30 would have a very different reaction to it as someone listening at 13. I just happened to be at the right age for it at the genre’s peak, so it spoke to me as a teen and provided a soundtrack to a lot of core memories.
