The Redeem Team Documentary on Netflix

Thoroughly enjoyed the new documentary about the men's Olympic team bouncing back for gold at the 2008 Bejing games. They talked about what went wrong in 2004 and delved in the three-year commitment that was followed by Coach Krzyzewski and the star players.
It really showed how the rest of the world was caught up in basketball and how Coach K had to rebuild chemistry and teamwork with the new team. Don't care what anyone says, Kobe put the team on his back and led the way.

It was so surprisingly patriotic that I wondered if the NBA put it out to try and combat the effects of all the BLM stuff

I enjoyed the doc. But they completely forgot about the existence of Michael Redd and Tayshawn Prince, which I thought was funny.

Unfortunately our country isn’t going to see the same fate

The shots of Kobe and his daughter are sad

I love basketball and the nba but I have no interest in watching a doc phrased as a comeback story for a team that is far more talented than anyone else. Congrats, you did what you were supposed to do.

Spain was playing with a full NBA lineup, so i don’t believe the talent gap was as large as people think. Argentina, Puerto Rico and Greece made them boys looks silly in the previous years.

Pretty forced documentary to make these egotistical nba players feel some kind of way.

The 04 team was such an embarrassment
2008 was so awesome. Kobe did go into God mode. I seent it

This is something that I really never realized before watching this show. The above teams were loaded with NBA talent. Also, never knew there were subtle rule changes in Olympics that effected the play of NBA players.
I think my favorite part was when the team went out partying one night, everyone but Kobe. They get back to the hotel at like 4 am, and as they're coming in wasted, Kobe is in the lobby with his bag, heading to the gym to practice alone. They all realized how dedicated he was, and suddenly, they were all waking up early and practicing with him. Except the one dude, who said he started waking up early enough to catch breakfast, but frick practicing that early.

Except for when Kobe and Lebron got 2 fouls early and were benched. And they put in DWade, who barely even made the team. Now that dude went God mode and saved their arse. I had forgotten a lot of the stuff in the documentary. It was a really good watch I thought.

Spain was very talented for an international team but the gap was still huge. What made it competitive was the rule differences and our players having no chemistry together. We were still exponentially more talented

The stuff that hasn’t been front and center since the bubble?

That’s why the 3 year commitment was so important. I also didn’t know about the USSR cheating to beat Doug Collins’ team in the 72’ games.

Without looking it up, who knew who the guy on the bottom right was?

This schtick is so lame and more than played out. 99% of posters on this board are so obviously more intelligent than you for one simple reason.
They don’t live in California like your dumbass.
ETA:
To the OP, I have been anti NBA for a long time but this documentary was surprisingly very pro America and reminded me of the NBA of the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Kobe is one of the most transcending athletes of all time.
