Jaden Daniels Completion Percentage

He is catching some flak and that comes with the territory when your team gets beat 40-13. However, Jaden Daniels’ completion percentage last night was over 71%. That is a perfectly respectable completion rate and good enough to win most games (which we have).

He can’t read defenses and is not a downfield threat.

If you watch his play, the completion percentage is very misleading.

quit looking at stats and watch a game

Yep 7 out of 10 ain’t bad against their 3rd string in garbage time when they weren’t covering the middle of the field. Good try though.

He did throw into coverage more, but due to our lack of a deep passing game, everything inside of 20 yards has zero separation.

He will always put up a decent stat line at the end of the day, but it doesn't tell the true story.
He got a ton of completions late while being blown out.

There was never a safety deeper than 11 yards from the line of scrimmage, that’s how great JD is

Just stop
He’s not as bad as some make him out to be, but, he’s out of his league. Way out of his league. It’s unfortunate, but true

Tennessee played prevent after going up 13-0 because they knew Daniels would never stretch the field vertically. As a result he had plenty of underneath and sideline completions in the flats.
The 13 points says it all.

Doesn’t see blitzes and stunts. Panics when pressured in pocket and stops looking downfield. Just bad pocket presence

Short passes will do that. He can’t throw downfield, so that’s all they can do.

Your completion percentage will be pretty high if you don't take any shots down the field and will only throw it if there's no one within 10 yards of the receiver.

Daniels showed he has some talent yesterday. He did hit a couple long passes across the field showing a strong arm. He made a few 3rd and long conversions showing this. Additionally, some of this showed and proved our WRs not living up to their bill because separation was often non-existent.
My largest frustration yesterday was the 3rd and 1 before we failed on 4th and 1. You have to throw the ball down field. The following can happen - all of which would have been better than the fail on 4th and 1: a) Catch and TD, b) DPI and 15 yards and first down, c) incompletion which is what happened anyway, or d) INT and it results in a 50 yard punt.

yup they rolled guys up and even went cover 0 at times for obvious reasons. anyone who is not football ignorant knows this

That would be great if the field was only 20 yards...

This is so fricking stupid. Completion percentage doesn't win games. Throwing passes at line of scrimmage and averaging 6 yards per, won't do it obviously. Take a peak at his percentage of balls thrown down field. Unfortunately, it is a small sample size, but his numbers down field are laughable. The guy is embarrassing at best

32 completions. 300 yards. Take away yac and you can see why that completion % is meaningless bullshite.

yup. OP had zero context in his post for obvious reasons and he did not watch the game or know WTF he was watching

His completion percentage was even higher when the game was close. Do some of y’all even watch the games? Serious question.
