I will take things that would never happen in Louisiana for $500, Alex.

FDOT has completed emergency road and bridge repairs for Pine Island in under 3 days!

This was made possible by dedicated crews working around the clock to restore safe access. Work can now begin to make the island safe for its 9000 residents to return to their homes.

That would take Louisiana 3 years to fix minimum

2 years of studies
1 year of construction
And that’s if the contractor doesn’t go bankrupt

Initially I thought the same thing. But it is my guess that the infrastructure was not damaged and the main repairs were just to surface damage. It wasn't "built" in 3 days, it was repaired in 3 days.

Desantis is incredible

Regardless of how much repair was needed, doing anything in 3 days with the government means bypassing a ton of red tape

The twin span had over 40% damage after Katrina on an almost 6 mile bridge and they had it back open in 40 days. That was a pretty remarkable achievement

The bridge was fine. They rebuilt the road leading up to it. Big difference.

From what I’ve read, it’s temporarily repaired to allow restoration crews to get started.
