re: I’m Starting To Lean To The US Blowing Up Nordstream Because Of The Select Media Stories

its absolutely optics. You want the US to pound its chest and take credit for what could be perceived as its entry into a hot war with Russia? Denial is the smart play IF they did it or coordinated to do it.
The motivations are clear. The US never wanted Europe, particularly Germany, sourcing energy from Russia. It undermines sanctions, strengthens trade alliances, screws Ukraine, seeds European ports across the Baltic with Russian spies, and this pipeline has been Russia's best leverage as winter comes. Russia's energy comes with strings.

Do you think European intelligence are subject to media optics?

Again, I'm begging you to at least read a tiny bit about European geopolitics from 2000 onwards, because if that was the aim, the US could have taken far more substantive measures well before this. This view only works if you decide to ignore everything about the past.

No shite. Again, if you had any self-awareness at all, then you might realize how silly this notion is given gas disputes with Russia before this.

Yep, we did it, and you knew it when John Brennen said it was the Russians… For me, that sealed it, 100% it was us….

This post makes no sense at all.
literally none.
We have openly opposed the pipeline, threatened to destroy it, shut it down with sanctions, and now.. just weeks before a brutal German winter that could rapidly shift the power balance in this war.. it magically blows up.
Someone did it. There's a reasonable case to be made that the US is responsible, and its clear why we (or anyone else) wouldn't want to claim responsibility. Its simple.

Isnt it sad that this has become a solid reason to implicate the US?

Things exist before you notice them, dumbass.

I can think of several. Tom Schelling laid out one possible version involving the Soviets in his book The Strategy of Conflict. Maybe you should take a break and go read a book for a while to catch up on all the stuff you missed.

you can save your righteous indignation, name calling, and 20 year old history lessons for someone who gives a shite.
There's a theory that the US may be involved.
Is there motive? Yes
Is there capability? Yes
Is there precedent? Hell Yes
Are the Russian truthers connected to the regime all pointing the finger elsewhere? Yes
Is the media in complete unison on a specific narrative? Yes
These are all indicators, whether your jimmies can handle them or not.

If it was already shut down by sanctions why did we need to blow it up? It wasn't going to be delivering fuel to Germany this winter

Because it could very easily be turned back on?
You think Germany was going to let its people freeze to death?

If anyone needs it, it is definitely you. You barely seem to have object permanence.

Only meaningful to you. Again, European intelligence agencies aren't moved by media portrayals. On one side, you have the possibility of the US running the risk of fracturing an alliance it built, just as that alliance decides to spend at levels the US wanted them to spend since 2014. The long-term geopolitical view makes absolutely no sense in your version. Given how Putin referred to the incident today, and recent statements by the Kremlin, I'm again skeptical of unilateral US involvement.

Biden said he was going to do it just like he said he was going to steal 2020.

Or he will use common sense. The Baltic line was about to open. Why would Russia blow it up? What do they gain by costing themselves billions when they could just turn it off?
Occam’s Razor points to the reality. Our own cia did this and was likely carried out by 3rd party contractors.

People like John Brennan, who thoughtlessly and incorrectly blame Russia for literally everything is a red flag. Period.

another fantastic reason not to squeal

Well that's the problem with the US theory
If we did blow it up and we can't discount that possibility, we would have done so in defiance of our European allies
Does that seem likely to you?

Cool. I don't care what Brennen thinks.

As is yours. Do you think the US is the only nation to do this?

Very poor attempt

Yes. Seems extremely likely. The US has a disgusting, shameful, and duplicitous history of backstabbing geopolitical frickery.

Lol, look at your little arse and bringing morals into geopolitics. God damn you are dim.

Yes. It works at the behest of the regime in power and works to usurp any narratives against that regime. You can continue to pretend that these people are freedom fighters, but the rest of sane society knows better.

No. Which is why I find it telling that the lefties are so dug in on killing this debate. The US is as plausible a culprit as anyone.
