I know it’s been said countless times
But I feel like the rant is alive again with optimism and hope.
I know 2019 wasn’t long ago, but the change in staff has been so dang exciting.
Looking forward to games, hoping for the best.
Cautious optimism is a great feeling.
Hallelujah!!!

I'll be amazed if this coach can do better than a 3 loss season anytime during his overpaid contract. That being said i hope I am wrong and Geaux Tigers.

The MSU game was the one where even if we don't wind up with the best record this year, you realize we have an actual coaching staff. It doesn't feel like we're underperforming anymore, if anything over performing.

I disagree with hebetator. I think that, within 3 years, we’ll be consistent top 5 in the country.

2× AFCA Division II Coach of the Year (2002–2003)
2× AP College Football Coach of the Year (2012, 2018)
Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year (2012)
3× Home Depot Coach of the Year Award (2009, 2012, 2018)
SN Coach of the Year (2012)
Walter Camp Coach of the Year (2012)
Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award (2018)
GLIAC Coach of the Year (2001)
3× Big East Coach of the Year (2007–2009)
ACC Coach of the Year (2020)

Yeah man….how could a coach with that resume ever succeed in a place like this?

Oh wait…not to mention his FCS national titles and his FBS playoff and title game appearances.

How could he ever find success in a place that churns out NFL athletes like few others can?

Explain your reasoning. Otherwise prepare to be ignored. Because facts and Kelly’s coaching history don’t back that up.

This next game is very winnable, and, what a sweet win it would be.

I despise Brian Kelly. I dislike him and that's my right, and the fact that they signed an absurdly long and overpriced contract for the mediocrity he will bring is laughable.

Sure there is some potential and I did say I hope to be proven wrong. Yet no one can deny the unprecedented love the media feeds notre dame, so his rankings for the last decade have been padded by misguided media love. One of his most successful seasons (2012) has all victories stripped due to NCAA violation. The next best season he had was 2020 in which covid ruined the sport for the year, he swam to the top during the chaos.
Maybe he will prove himself, but nothing of his past justifies a 10 year contract. This is where my anger is coming from. If he's not coaching a top 5 team in 3 years then how much time and money is being pissed away AGAIN?

….. It’s not just Notre Dame. He’s been mega successful everywhere he’s been.

This is the weirdest thing to me, why some LSU fans are thinking this. LSU finally hired a coach with a stellar résumé. This is literally the best coach we’ve ever hired in football, and it’s really not even close. There are maybe 3 active coaches in FBS that have accumulated a resume like coach Kelley as far as national awards go. The guy is Recruiting like his hair is on fire and we’re looking to finish with the top three class. He took a roster with 36 scholarship players, bandaged it up…..and has them looking pretty good.

If Lester miles can consistently put 10 wins seasons together and Ed Orgeron can win a freaking national title…… The sky is the limit for Brian Kelly my dude

I recall same was said for Orgeron, but with much less conviction.
I guess Miles LSU tenure is the floor?

Maybe it's just the pessimist in me that has me thinking this way. I disliked Miles well before the bandwagon for it. I enjoyed the first couple of years and them got burnt out with his stubbornness and inability to adapt. Miles was possibly the best recruiter out there though, that man had more talent than anyone. He just couldn't coach it.

I don't think anyone out there was worth this contract (possibly Saban), the SEC is just to wildly different to compare with success elsewhere. Know i am saying this because its a 10 year contrant and not 4-5 (which is the most it should have been) and over triple his previous salary. There's no room for improvement, that contract states win a championship or LSU made a bad investment.

Relax my man…..neither me or you paid for that contract. Scott Woodward did his Scott Woodward thing and got all the alumni millionaires to pay for it.

Rich men can spend their money how they want.

Let’s just enjoy the ride. I think we have a really good one on our hands.
