I’m interested in seeing what House cooks up. As much as I would love to see some blitzing schemes, Ashford isn’t much of a proven passer. I’m sure we’ll see some disguised zone coverages and containment from the defensive line. If we shutdown Hunter and Bigsby we’ll be in good hands. Going against New Mexico was the perfect tuneup. Auburn runs a lot of those zone read and option concepts.

What say you gentlemen?

For the first time in a long time .... it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks besides our DC because low and behold, this MFr knows what he's doing. Feels like cheating.

Contain Ashford in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm. I wouldnt be sending a ton of numbers after him, make sure if he escapes the pocket you have Perkins or Penn or Ward waiting for him

It will be very important that our edge rushers stay disciplined and dont get too far upfield. Ashford takes off at the first sign of pressure and the lanes must remain small and force him wide instead of him taking off inside of the D end.

Load up to stop the run. I would imagine many 3 LB sets with Perkins on the field. Use run blitzes that can turn into QB pressures. Get them in unfavorable down/distances, and then make them pay for it with selective pressure and disguised coverages to force indecisiveness and mistakes for their QB. In House we trust!

Stop the run and make them beat me through the air. Our defense is legit and Auburn will have a tough time getting points. But Auburn will throw everything at us including the kitchen sink, because their coach is hanging by a thread.

Scheme to stop the run and make inexperienced QB throw to beat us. But, use press coverage so that the QB has to make on time perfect throws to complete. If we do this, I suspect we will force them to throw early and LSU will have multiple INT. GEAUX TIGERS!

A traditional 4-3 until Auburn shows House they can pass effectively?

Auburn is 57th overall in FBS rushing per game and 103rd in passing.

Either drop into coverage and make him throw perfect throws while maybe getting slight pressure with your front four, or play tight man coverage and pressure him quick, hard, and often until he starts slinging pics. Make the game be faster than the young kid can handle.
