This is correct. White and Perkins are not comparable because of this. They will play completely different linebacker positions.

I see them as different kind of players, white was more of a MLB that was great at shooting gaps and making tfls, I see perkins as more of a OLB pass rusher, though he seemed to be in on a lot of tackles on the RB from my memory. Hard to say if he will be "better" but Perkins looks to be on track to be a game changing type player.

Don’t get me wrong White was great on the blitz at LSU but Perkins has that natural edge rusher body lean, balance and redirection ability you just don’t see a lot in college especially this early and for someone his size that plays a LB position who generally lines up inside the end in the 4-2-5 Defense.

You don’t get better than white, he might get as good though.

Two different styles but believe Perk has a chance to be just as impactful as White. I don't say that lightly because White was a phenom. I think Perk has the same elite play-making skills that White possessed.

I don't know why you would get hammered for that comparison, I think it's spot on.

Perkins can line up all over the place and do whatever you want
He’s more than just a pass rusher …I think making him a Jack linebacker would be selling him short

House had some really strong LBs at UK. I think he’ll be just fine. The fact that he’s already moving Perkins around to get him comfortable and on the field more should tell you that the young man is in good hands.

Unlikely to see anyone of Devin's talent at his position for a loooong time.

You can’t say no, that’s for sure. I love Devin as much as the next guy. But you can’t deny the special talent this kid is. Who knows what he’ll develop into.
