Starkville. The fans are a lot more fun.

Cotton District in Starkville is highly underrated.
Also tailgating on the Junction is awesome.

If you've never been and/or young its Oxford
If you're older/been to each and don't want to fight crowds to get into restaurants/bars and still have a good time its Starkville

Oxford--but only if you leave immediately after the game.
The entire town turns on you after the game, including the police.

How is this even a question?

albeit its been early 2000s when i went to both...but:
Oxford: to experince the Grove,(tents set up with white tablecloths and chandeliers), the Walk of Champions, band that used to play Dixie, Old Venice Pizza, the library after the game in the square, the sundresses and cowgirl boots student fan base.
Starkville: we rode bicycles from the RV lot to the stadium. not sure we even locked them up. we walked right into the stadium with a route 44 size styrofoam cup of bourbon and ice and not one person said a word to any of us. lol. the good ole days maybe. (Philadelphia MS Dancing Rabbit golf course/resort is only 60 miles away)

Oxford is one of the few trips I have not made in the SEC. I have been to Stark-Vegas. Had a blast with the MSU fans.
Made that trip a 3 day golf trip. MSU is known for their turf grass management, thus the courses around there are excellent and cheap.

Been to Oxford twice, hated it both times. Been to every SEC venue but A&M and Oxford is near the bottom of the list.
Also almost got my arse beat in Starkville as a younger cat when shaking my keys over my head walking back to the truck

Oxford
Watching a game and hearing cowbells all game is not my idea of fun

because of Ole Miss's fans. They make it a lot closer comparison than you would think.
Of course Oxford is nicer, but they're fans are just so stuck up and rude.

Did Oxford in 2003 (Eli falls down) and 2009 (clock it!) and had a good time but I found OM fans to be snooty and combative. I’m more of a take in the experience and keep to myself away fan so it’s not like I was looking for trouble, but my presence was enough trouble for most.
Did Starkville in 2013 and had a blast. State fans don’t take themselves too seriously for football and were very welcoming. It was also the weekend of their bulldog bash (not sure if this is still a thing).
TLDR: Really enjoyed my State trip more than OM.

Starkville is a great, laid back experience. Moo State fans are nice as hell and generally cool.
You’ll see a lot of coffee cups. Baptists can’t let other Baptists see that they are drinking bourbon and coke, so they use coffee cups. It’s an accepted convention.

Been to both. I enjoyed Moo Town better that Manningland. Oxfart was very overrated. Their fans , the grave with their tree chandlers; the walk of "chumps" were a big nothing. However a lot of eyer candy.
Moo town was better. Their fans were welcoming warm and friendly. Those cow bells though will ring in your ears long after the game.
