5th years should not be eligible for AAI. Period. Trinity should also have an asterisk next to her name when she gets the record for 10s in a career. No one else had 5 full years to get them.

I agree! Trinity has had a supreme run in the NCAA. It's time to honor other outstanding gymnasts that have given their best efforts to their teams and the sport.

I have said it before (and I agree Trinity is a beautiful and exceptional gymnast), but I will be so so so so so glad when she is no longer competing in NCAA (all power to her if she wants to give elite another go, as I have seen rumored a couple of times :-)

I feel similarly about SUni - but that's just because of the insane score bump Auburn is getting because of her.

Aleah has been a trooper with great scores and yet there is no accolade in the SEC Honors to recognize the achievement of gymnasts that get tens as an AA gymnast or score within tenths or hundredths of gymnasts like Trinity who are 5th year competitors. Also, there should be other Freshmen that could be recognized other than DiCello every week. She is an accomplished gymnast but does have form issues that are very noticeable but overlooked by judges during her routines.

I’m salty af about the SEC weekly honors this week. The team LSU beats gets two gymnasts honored, and not one for LSU. That’s bullshite.

Has anyone actually done the math on the score bump for Auburn? Cus I did and I literally could not stop laughing at the ridiculousness of it.

If y’all wanna know: since Suni joined their team, their team’s high score has gone up by a full point and a half. Back in 2019 during Derrian’s freshman year, the team had a team high score of 197.1 and just barely went over 197/didn’t hit 197 at all over the next two seasons (highest score they got was a 197.125 at home against Arkansas in 2021). Fast forward to last year, now their team high is 198.575 (granted they did that at home against Florida but still). How does a team with basically the same roster and lineups, but only adding in one gymnast improve by a full point and a half in one year when they continue to have the same form issues?!?! It’s absolutely ridiculous and I’m over score inflation. Florida I can understand because they’ve always been overscored and their roster is insane with how talented they each are individually but it makes no sense as far as auburn goes

EDITED TO ADD: that is also the only 198 Auburn has ever scored

I was really expecting (stupid me) Aleah to get GOTW this time since we beat Florida and she was very much the gymnast that put us over the edge. I’ve said it before but I hate how they just vote based on AA total and don’t take into account other factors. This is on the coaches.

KJ broke her foot “celebrating” what the heck

And Alyona may be unavailable on Friday due to a groin pull…

So need to replace 1-2 on vault, 0-1 on bars, 1-2 on beam and 1-2 on floor. Geez this team cannot catch a break.

I think we have the depth to still put up 6 per event IF the coaches are able to put Bryce in

It’s not the craziest thing. Cade beloso got hurt celebrating last year in baseball and mason smith tore his acl celebrating in football this year

Apparently she got pushed down on the mat after the Alma mater and broke her 5th metatarsal

goodness. Just when we starting to hit our stride. I hope Jay takes this opportunity to pull out Tatum's 1.5. This is the time to try it as there is absolutely nothing left to lose here. But, also maybe this is the time to get Schennikova out of the bars lineup and put livvy in and show Jay that the bar lineup can score better without her than with her (crosses fingers). As for beam, well, it seems the options are ballard and bryce - and there is no more room for holding them back or resting, or whatever. That just is what it is - these are extraordinarily high level athletes, Bryce included, so its time for her to get back up on that horse. And for floor - I guess we're left with Chase, Arenas, and?? I super feel for KJ and that's just such an unfortunate thing to have happened. In all sports, I wonder about the pile celebrations, etc. and the risk for injury.

Let’s hope Jay can take out a pass for Chase on floor. I don’t know if Elena always had a 2 pass routine, but why not make Chase’s a little easier? Is that something they can rework this late in the season? I still can’t get over the fact that everyone of Florida’s girls did 2 passes. I thought Oklahoma was the only team getting overscored on watered downs routines. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!

I’m broken hearted for KJ. I hope it’s something that she can recover from in a few weeks.

Bars we have Dunne coming back + Cowan if Dunne isn't ready. So it's fine honestly.

Vault it's time to see Tatum, and maybe hope Alyona can be used? If not then who knows.

Beam we have Ballard, Wilson, maybe Jeffrey. Everyone not named Finnegan or Bryant has been shaky on beam this year, so the potential is there to replace those scores without losing much.

Floor is gonna be a massacre. Floor has already been poor this year, and replacing the 2 of them is a tall order.

Hoping the team continues to fight and can get to session 2 of SEC

Also, I assume the information that Rabalais tweeted came from the press conference - anyone have a link?

Is KJ’s injury season ending? Could it be something they wrap and let her go if the pain isn’t too much? Maybe she could be back for post season? That’s such a shame and just our luck.

I’m praying for all to heal up. Not sure what you can even say at this point

On another note, I guess It’s time to role out Bryce and the other youngsters. They have to develop at some point, not just for this season but down the road (next year)

A certain podcast is mocking LSU for not returning Selena Harris’ phone calls. I believe full heartedly she could have been the last piece of the puzzle to what LSU already had to propel them to the first natty, and as early as even this season.
