Ah, the old:
White males today are responsible for things they didn't even do because they happened 100 years before they were born.
Black males today aren't even responsible for the actions they personally chose to take.
That's what I call "equity".
One of the most cogent posts on here in a long time...

There is no justification for violent crime in our society
Conditions today are 1,000% better than in black communities 100 years ago.
housing paid for by the government
A credit card that gets refilled every month so you can feed yourself
A government cellphone
Government healthcare
Public transportation
You can laugh at all these things but none of them existed 100 years ago and even in every ghetto they have a much easier life than 100 years ago. Yet crime is infinitely worse and blamed on conditions white people created.
These criminals aren’t stealing bread. They probably wear nicer shoes than you. This is a cultural violence problem.
You won’t hear an honest conversation from sugar71 on these issues. Just deflection and blame.

These are not the same. Wearing a hoodie in 90 degree weather is reasonable grounds to think criminal activity is afoot; there are no freedoms lost with a Terry stop to investigate odd behavior
Agree to disagree. Odd behavior is a very subjective thing.

It's mostly a single parent home issue that started in the 60s and 70s, not 1866.

My guess is that the higher ups in Baton Rouge do not want to catch the killers...because the killers likely have a long rap sheet, and should not have been on the street, and it will again expose how bad the criminal justice system has gotten in the last two years, and they definitely don't want that knowledge out there with elections on the horizon...sad...

Correct. If sugar71 wants to discuss it we can present some facts in another thread. But what usually happens is one side presents facts and statistics, the other side creates an argument based on emotions.

There needs to be an honest national conversation about the violence White males committed in this country. Your society was built upon violence. Violence begats violence.
Lets do a little survey on black and white Culuture these days. I'm guessing one would be alot more violent than the other. Lets just look at a few major cities. Off the top of my head: New Orleans, Chicago, Memphis and the list goes on and on. Facts these days seem to be racist for some reason.

That would be President LBJ starting welfare in the early 60's.

Seems like the pubic pressure might be pretty high on this one but maybe if enough time goes by. The fact that they didn't have much urgency to speak with the only witness speaks volumes.

Please allow us to help this girls family if they arrange a gofundme. Any efforts on our part come from a genuine care for the well being of her family and the safety of our community and LSU students trying to live their life peacefully. If this isn’t a turning point what will be? How many innocent lives have to be lost?

I knew most here don't really care about this woman. You want a " conversation " with someone .
Then why are blacks almost exclusively killing otger black men? Idiot

I’m confused because you can hear the train moving in the audio.
quote:that was my thought the first time I heard the ShotSpotter audio... that was couplers banging together as if they were tightening up to start moving.
Maybe the train started moving again right before the shooting.
Which would also happen if they were swapping cars, locomotives, etc. somewhere on the line also.
That first loud bang, which also had a "clack" sound to it, no very brief reverberations like a gunshot.

No, you were asking if it could be done and then suggesting that it could be near suicide to try it and wondering if it was even possible
When I said it was “suicidal,” it probably would be in the dark. If you get your foot caught or trip, you’ll either get dragged by the train or crushed when the train rolls over you.
But again, I understand that it’s physically possible to jump a coupler. The point was raised that the train was in motion as a preclusion for jumping.
The rhetorical exercise in raising the question of its possibility (in terms of a slow moving train) is to allow the other person I was talking to the opportunity to see the answer without me directly giving them the answer.

Surprised these ppl hear multiple gun shots and didn’t call the police right away
That part of the story makes the least sense to me. They hear gunshots, see her try to drive away then stop, they turn around, go home and sleep?
Only to wake up the next day, watch the news, and put 2 and 2 together. We’re they drunk and admitted to that? Perhaps that’s why BRPD didn’t immediately call them back. Not trying to give BRPD any credit.

Lol
I’d take that argument elsewhere.
E fighting on the OT isn’t a good path to go down.

I don’t think anyone besides Kirin has mentioned the witness.

I was rhetorically addressing Havoc’s comment about the suspects chances of being able to jump the tracks with a moving train.
I didn’t say anything even close to that.
It was a discussion about the witness statement that the train was stopped versus the audio sounding like it was moving albeit slowly.
I have no idea where you got the rest of that.

Since we’re going off of the witness statement in the op and not initial media reports I guess what you just said was pointless
No, not really, but if you feel some insecurity-driven need to be a dick in a serious discussion, that says more about you than anything else.
