drinking problem is probably only because it's a bitch to keep it, comparably, crime free. Nola a baton Rouge seem to embrace and welcome crime.

Nola has a mayor with a drinking and anxiety pill problem. Doesn’t seem to be working

It's not a problem to the Nola mayor, she does it for fun. She's not stressed out about anything but her lavish vacations being scrutinized. She's certainly not doing anything to reduce crime, actually quite the opposite.

Pew-PewCheck out the murder map on KLFY-TV10. You can pick a great place to live if you move to Laffy just by this map.

I just watched two cars almost get in a minor fender bender after the Saints game. It ended with two guys getting out of their truck and beating the shite out of the guy in the other car.

Then everyone just calmly returned to their vehicles and they sat in traffic next to each other as if nothing had happened.

New Orleans is a special place.

Look at the common theme, the mayors of BR and NOLA. There's your answer.

Those people were probably from Baton Rouge or Jefferson Parish.

More than likely they were from Lafayette

I cannot confirm or deny your assumptions. I can only confirm they were all saints fans.

I was also walking to get a coffee this morning and out of nowhere a parked car blew a tire. There was a loud “bang!” and my immediate thought was where are the shots coming from and it’s way too early for this shite.

That’s more of just a funny thing that happened and not a reflection on New Orleans though.

Used to live in Lafayette. Never once felt worried about danger south south of Johnston St and away from the Evangeline Thwy.

Has Lafayette lost population recently? Seems to me most folk are fleeing the old towns surrounding Lafayette and moving to Broussard and Youngsville.

There were over 500 shootings in BR last year. Only a fraction of those were reported in the news.

Absolutely not, most of our crime is isolated to a particular area of the city.

Who is “our” and “my”?

Do you all of a sudden own Lafayette?

BR is one of the top 10 most violent cities in the US per capita. It was probably top 5 last year.

Nope-

Not even in the top 20 according to FBI statistics.

Baton Rouge still didn’t have our demographic skew even 20 years ago, maybe 40 years.

And then busing happened. BR would have recovered from weeks of B52s carpet bombing, but the destruction wrought by busing turned out to be worse.

Demographics have more to do with crime rate than size of the city or who the mayor is.

demographics notwithstanding, it doesn't take long to ruin a city. doesn't take long at all.
