This has me thinking about illegals in Florida

DeSantis put $8 million in the budget for getting illegals out of Florida. He’s really grandstanding it, which is fine. But there are a bunch of Cuban migrants in Florida as well that are part of the state turning red as they flee communism. Does it send the wrong message to them that he doesn’t want illegals there? Is there a difference between Cuban/Venezuelan defectors?

Seems like Cuba will not accept them back unless there is an unusual circumstance.
Us has been working to deport Cuban Nationals. Just seems like Cuba can accept or reject them.
This is a clip from a recent Miami herald article in 2022.
“In these types of deportations, the United States contracts charter flights to send people to the island. The Cuban government does not accept such flights, according to the Miami Herald newspaper.”

Unless something has changed, there is no such thing as an illegal Cuban. You're also considering that people who came legally identifying with the people who cut in line, which typically isn't the case. I was at a dinner with a Chinese friend and some lib at the table thought she'd be a sympathetic ear for his support of illegals. He thought wrong. She went through a lot of effort to do things the right way, and resented the line-cutters as well as the lib who lumped her in with them.

Big question to try and understand this:
1. Are the Cubans that are here illegal? Have they tried the proper channels?
2. The venezualans clearly violated the law by not going to the nearest country seeking asylum.

Venezuelan voters were stupid enough to vote in a Socialist president.
Cubans didn't vote in commie Castro he just took over.

Yes, wealthy educated successful patriotic Cubans and LEGAL Venezuelans love it when poor uneducated gang affiliated illegals flood into their communities. It’s always a great outcome….you liberals are beyond naive.

Here’s a fun fact from a Florida law enforcement officer. We have so many illegal aliens in the state right now that they’re starting to take over communities that have been traditionally black. The blacks are being displaced and cannot find housing because of the economic power of so many Hispanics who have migrated.
The benefit is that they generally clean up the area and we see decreases in crime and blight. It’s hard to discuss this without sounding racist but the reality is that Hispanic migrants are quickly putting blacks into even worse economic situations. The Hispanics have a far better work ethic and they stick together as family units. Far less drug abuse and crime.
Blacks really should be seriously thinking about their political views because they’re being replaced. .

Yes, 7 countries.
Venezuelans have to pass through SEVEN countries before they get to the US claiming asylum. Cubans get in a boat or raft and hope to make it across the 90 miles to Florida.
Passing through 7 countries to get to the one that has the best benefits is asylum shopping.

I wouldn’t call it grandstanding. You have to make those who support certain policies, in this case open borders, see and feel the consequences of their policies. That is what shipping illegals to those places does.
It is both good policy and politics by Desantis and Abbot to do this.

So your saying illegal immigrants have turned Florida red ? Democrats going so far left have turned a lot of the Spanish population to become republicans. Why would shipping illegal immigrants out of the states offend legal immigrants? Desantis should find a way to use give send go to raise money to pay for the illegal immigrant removal. That way when democrats get mad he tell them to come sign paperwork that they will be responsible for the illegal immigrants. Democrats are all talk . They could care less about the illegal immigrants.
