3 days and Allie Rice’s killer(s) are still free

I’m going to update this daily until they’re arrested. We can’t let this one be forgotten. City, parish, and state leadership need to all be held accountable until crime is under control in this war zone that we call Baton Rouge. The local media may forget after a few days but this site wont. I encourage everyone to blast the local media’s social media presence with it until this stuff is under control as well. Hold their feet to the fire until they start holding SWB’s and the BRPD’s feet to the fire.
We literally can’t go anywhere in baton rouge without watching over our backs. We can’t go eat out without our vehicles being broken into, we can’t go shopping without being mugged in the parking lot. We can’t drive on Bluebonnet Blvd in broad daylight without being caught in the crosshairs of gang violence. We can’t send our children to LSU or Southern without them being robbed, shot, or raped ON CAMPUS. We can’t send our kids to LSU or Southern without fearing they’ll be murdered while eating french fries at a train crossing.
Enough is enough. Hold the media’s feet to the fire and demand change.

Be the change…..aka just move

SWB and her puppet Police Chief don’t care. The solution is to move away from that shithole.

frick Sharon Broome and the animals that did this.

Of course justice should be demanded about this case. But, realistically, I don't think change, in any positive sense, is likely.
I hate to say it, but the smartest option is to leave the area (if you're capable.)
The truth is that it isn't going to get better in the long-term. It's just going to get worse.
The best way to protect your family is to remove them from the dangerous environment. That's a lot easier than changing the entire culture that makes up the area.

I get what you’re saying but if we just cede an entire once great city, they’ll take more. We have to fight for change by demanding change in the media FIRST.

Did the 2nd thread get anchored too?

The other one got anchored? WTF???

I agree and appreciate your fervor. Sadly, I am not sure what can turn BR around at this point. There seems to be little potential for improvement. I already moved my family out of there, and am planning on yet another move as the decay spreads to the suburbs, but my husband and son work in BR and I worry more all the time.
This should be stickied until arrests are made, IMO.

Much of the rot we have today, is due to the media giving our "leaders" a pass on crime. Our media is complicit in this and absolutely worthless.

And still get blamed after you do, even though the people moving away weren’t the people causing the problems.

The first one was a complete shitshow with trolling.

The OT is going to solve this come hell or high water for the family of Allie. This murderous thug piece of shite is going down.

The media has an obligation to question authority. Instead they’re inviting SWB to go on their broadcasts in studio to talk about community-based initiatives that encourage others to speak up. How about questioning local judges and DA’s who let criminals off easy? We need to demand judges and DA’s who will commit to prosecuting and sentencing based upon the maximum allowable sentence for the crimes these thugs are convicted of committing. I guarantee you all the collective OT’s money that those responsible for this murder have all been involved in something else previously and were let off easy in some way, shape, or form. It’s infuriating. They get second, third, and fourth chances while Allie Rice couldn’t even finish her french fries.

This is hitting me so much harder than most, and I’ve been pretty angry about the state of Baton Rouge for a while. Even living in a safe suburb in the area, most of us probably still work and shop in Baton Rouge nearly every day. I hate that I find myself sizing up every car next to me at a red light, or looking for escape routes in traffic if shite goes south ahead or behind me.
I’m old now, but I used to be that 21 year old, driving back to an apartment after a night out with friends. She deserved to live her life, graduate, have children, move away from here. To hug her parents and create memories. It’s so senseless and unfair.

We have members of our local media telling Brian Kelly that they’ll be on time to press conferences if he wins games without the bat of an eye but will sit and smile while SWB and Murphy Paul talk about how senseless crime is and that we need to encourage speaking out, then gushingly thank them for their time after their empty statements instead of saying, “hold up, you’ve been in charge for years now and things are only getting worse. Who’s to blame and why is it you?”.

There is no hope that BR will ever get appreciable better. The demographics prevent it. Sorry but it’s the simple truth. You have to move and hope liberals and government subsidized housing doesn’t change the demographics of wherever you go.
