Luke Bryan’s “That’s my kind of night” and Blake Shelton’s “Boys Round Here” were big when I was a Freshman. Even though both songs are crappy, it still takes me back to that carefree time when I hear them play.
It’s crazy what a song(s) will do.

I'll add Led Zeppelin's "In Through the Out Door." I bought that album at the Record Rink in Village Square the day it was release and was gravely disapointed.

83-85 Anything from AC/DC, Van Halen, Molly Hatchet, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Dio, Maiden, etc. I liked what had a powerful vocal delivery and screaming guitars. I also liked Pink Floyd a lot.

Same here. But I never could listen to the stupid grunge or whatever they call that Seattle music.

We were listening to Jerry Jeff, Hank Jr, DAC, and those sort of things.

Yes sir. Even most of my friends my age (48-49 y.o) still don't get the art and excitement of the tangibles in music. I also told them about my CD collection and they all LOL'ed. "Welcome to 2022" they said. "Digital music is everywhere from the push of a button". I understand the benefit of that, but as you stated above...the album covers, liner notes, etc, They just don't get it.

Looking back I guess I was feeling the same. Today I see that album as great!

The early portion of the college/alt. chart. I would not have wanted to be there any other time, musically.
