We have a group of 12 from Dallas coming down for MSU game this weekend and want some authentic seafood.

We have loved Parrains in the past but they don’t take reservations and with a big group, hard to depend on walk ups.

I have set a reservation for Mike Andersons but want to make sure there isn’t another spot I’m missing that’s highly recommended.

Would appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!!

Seconding Louisiana Lagniappe. It's nicer seafood - not as casual as Parrains - but really solid. They started taking reservations during Covid and I think still continue to take them.

Mike Anderson's might have the right gameday vibe, but if you saw the kitchen, you'd run away screaming.

If you want to impress these people, Louisiana Langniappe for the win.

LA Lagniappe does take reservations, made ours for TN game, but call in. Can't make them online.

Mike Anderson’s is hit-and-miss, all depends on what you order. Some is really good, some is really bad.

LA Lagniappe is great, but pricy

Roux 61 is solid, but their food is very heavy

Get out of Baton Rouge go to Duke’s in Denham Springs they have two locations and really good seafood and steaks. Shouldn’t be as crowded a lot safer. Try the Duked up shrimp for an appetizer, they’re my favorite. Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide to go.

tell me you are from LP and don't know good seafood, without telling me...

Duke's is a 5 out of 10 every day of the week. Avoid this place unless you want to be disappointed...

Roberto’s doesn’t take reservations either.

Louisiana Lagniappe Is probably the best. Others are Mike Anderson, Drusilla Seafood, Roux 61, Drago’s, Phil’s Oyster Bar, Acme, Rouj Creole, Beausoleil, Crawford’s and Sammy’s.

All different vibes and level of food, just depends on what you want.

They're not known for it, but Elsie's Plate and Pie has EXCELLENT fried shrimp, catfish, and oysters!!

They have a great shrimp poboy, and also one with their version of "bang bang shrimp."

You don't get voted Best New Restaurant and then Best Restaurant for the next 4 years for nothing!
