I know I'm getting ahead a little. But, I was going through our 2023 recruiting class. Pretty damn solid and we are not done yet, we could be a top 3 class. With Rickie Collins coming in and is impressive and more of what BK likes in a QB. We will have Daniels, Nuss, Howard and Collins great QB room. But, someone will bolt to the portal. I say Nuss will probably say enough of this, or do by some miracle do we somehow keep all 4. Rickie Collins is legit ! Do we keep all 4 ?

The only thing I know about the 23 room is that the backup will be better

Many think Jayden will leave after this year. It is his fourth starting and he has his degree. He’s going to give pro ball a shot. Your QB room will be Nuss, Howard, & Collins and a starter won’t be named until late in fall camp to make sure the room stays that way.

0.00% chance all those guys are here in 2023. If Nuss doesn’t become the guy at any point this year, he’ll leave. He ain’t beating out Howard.

No? I’ll tell you this, the trait that will determine the QB next year is his ability to make reads and get LSU in the right play, then make post snap reads to get the ball to the right playmaker. And none of us has any idea which of these QBs will have that ability.

This is what made Burrow so good. Burrow would have been the third best arm on this year’s team, but he would have been the starter by 100 miles. It’s because he almost always knew what to do and where to go with the ball.

Agree. It’s not like Nuss or Walker has any big physical advantages over the other. Similar arm strength, height, and athleticism. It’s not like Trevor Lawrence vs Kelly Bryant. Walker is a talented guy but he’s not a generational type QB prospect. And he may very well win the job next year. But if he doesn’t, there will be clowns on here declaring him a bust and that definitely won’t be the case.

This is why so many people worshiped Myles, but there is so much more to being a good quarterback then arm talent. It doesn't take a genius to watch Burrow, Nuss, and Walker to realize the second two have a stronger arm. This coming from someone who thinks Burrow will be the best QB in the NFL the next 10 years. He does the other 70 percent of things that make a QB good nearly perfect

He was a 5* number 1 rated QB in the entire class. Maybe he becomes a generational QB and maybe he isn’t but you are out here acting like he is a bum before taking a snap. He is our best straight out of high school QB prospect in a long time.

He’s right. Joe burrows arm strength was below any of our scholarships qbs this year. He’s obviously the best we’ve ever had but his arm may be one of the weaker ones that lsu has had as a starting qb.

Burrow probably had a stronger arm than Jennings and lee but besides that , I can’t come up with any others that have started in the last 20 years.

If you think burrow had a strong arm then you are missing out on why he was so impressive. His lack of arm strength is what made his game so beautiful. The anticipation that he throws with is done out of necessity and I’m not sure he develops that with a strong arm

For about a month , yes. That was after ewers reclassified and before walker got hurt.

Walkers arm is already close to being the strongest on the team if it’s not already . I think nuss will give him a great competition though. We still don’t know how this year will go though

Because I said he's not considered a generational type QB prospect I think he's a bum? He was a ranked a composite four star. Rivals had him as a five star. 24/7, ESPN, and On3 had him as a high four star. And what I mean by that type of prospect is a guy that from the second he walks on campus, you think he's in the NFL in three years. Lawrence, Stafford, Watson. Those type of guys. And I agree, he's the best high school QB we've signed in while. But unfortunately, that's hasn't been a high bar to clear at LSU since Les signed Perrilloux.
