Last year he had a great freshman year i felt. Just curious if he was hurt or something against fsu? He had 1 catch at end of game. I would have thought he would be in game for every series on offense and be more involved? Kid is a gamer.

Also J. Mashburn was a hell of a blocker last year at tightend. He didn't see the field?

he's been dealing with shin splints but seemed okay at the end of camp

he wasnt on the bench the entire game so thats reassuring - i'd hate for him to be a transfer after this szn for lack of play (the fact i have to worry about this now really sucks)

Bech would have gotten his head around at the goal line.

He was actually open, WIDE open a few times. Daniels never saw him.

19 snaps.

I hope they know what they are doing.

he was wide arse open on his routes. Problem is he wasn't WR1 for the QB reads. QB was running too much.

Hopefully he saw it in film review...over and over again. Should be a good learning lesson.

Everyone needs targets. All the WRs were pissed as they were open all night and no ball was ever thrown. Especially if you were not the primary read, why even try?

Bech missed almost all of camp with shin splints, and I’m sure they still bother him. But he’ll get more involved as he and Daniels develop more chemistry. As far as Mashburn, Kelly really doesn’t like to give away anything when it comes to personnel. And since he’s not much of a threat—if at all—in the passing game, him being in the game makes us more predictable and takes away the “tactical advantage” a guy like Taylor gives you, who can do both.

BUT, if we continue to not be able to either run or pass block and Mashburn is a significantly better blocker than Taylor, I think they’ll have find ways to get him in there. We may have to get creative and have him in a more H-back position with Taylor in the game in the traditional TE spot. But I expect to use a lot of different looks when we get into SEC play.

Because he had to. Why don't yall understand that, he didn't have much time back there.

Lots of talent to catch the ball, he has his work cut out for him. Mason Taylor has really burst on the scene and eaten up those inside routes.

The thing is if a QB that understands protections and defenses with a quick release and accuracy he can beat a rush by getting the ball out of his hands.

That said, the coaches need to do whatever they need to do to get the ball to the WRs. They didn't do enough.

They weren't wide open all night. There were some that were open and Daniels didn't see them. The pass rush didn't help. The attitude of why even try is what might have caused Boutte to not even look up for what should have been a TD.

Kelly is playing his players first and if you were playing last year transfer because you will never get your chance again.
