Urban Meyer is returning to broadcasting this season with a role on the “Big Noon Saturday” show on FOX Sports, but the former Jacksonville Jaguars, Ohio State and Florida head coach could be headed to the sidelines in the future.

Syndicated radio host Dan Patrick said a source told him that Nebraska and Arizona State are schools that could be “on to something” and to “keep an eye on” about Meyer’s coaching future.

Scott Frost at Nebraska and Herman Edwards at Arizona State are 2 of the coaches most on the hot seat nationally this season.

I was actually wondering if Auburn would take a shot at him next year.

With the coeds there I think he could do a good job. ASU has way underperformed for the last 40 years with a few exceptions.

He's the one guy I can think of that would make UNL dangerous again.

I just don’t see it. He went after the most prestigious jobs in college football, and he put himself in a position to succeed.

Turned down ND for Florida, took the OSU job when there wasn’t a super clear top dog (if anything, OSU was already as close as anyone in that conference).

ASU and Nebraska would be so different from those.

I think these are both awful opportunities compared to what will likely be open within the next 18 months. He should wait it out and see what opens if he wants to get back into it so badly.

No one expected USC, OU, Miami, Oregon, LSU, Florida, ND to all open up within the last year. Some of those replaced the other but still. If anything like that happens in 2022-2023, Urban could be at a top 10 power quick. If Urban was at any of those listed above he would win and win big

Dan Patrick either does a great job of carrying the water of agents leaking bad info to drum up more interest in their clients or he's clueless. No idea which one

Y'all remember when Dan Patrick was a respected sports voice?

Yeesh.

ASU - He'd have to share the coeds with the players, and that isn't happening.

Nebraska - 0 percent chance that fan base accepts him. He is the complete opposite of everything they cherish and stand for.

He needs to go to Wisconsin, cakewalk schedule outside of the years they have both Ohio State and Michigan. Push-button 4*+ stacked OL that only needs a few skill players to make the upward transition into an annual CFP-caliber team.

Urban may return to coaching at some point, but it ain’t gonna be to Nebraska or ASU c‘mon. After Saban, he’s arguably the most successful coach of the modern era.

I could see somewhere like Texas or Notre Dame, maybe others, but it’ll be a big name with a big budget.

I could actually.

Urban Meyer is 58.

Steve Spurrier took the South Carolina job (and almost took North Carolina instead) at 60 after failing miserably in the NFL.

Just saying. Don't discount a school like ASU, especially if the Pac survives.
