There was no plan other than to give credence to the show trial - which was supposed to eliminate Trump from 2024.
There's no mystery. They very boldly announced they were going to do it, and here we are.

Denesh Desuza went to jail for a minor campaign finance law violation. Maybe the only person ever sent to jail for it, ever. Nothing restrains the left. Of course Trump will be indicted for some bullshite charge regarding improper handling of top secret documents and he will be convicted. Probably will go to jail.

They will indict him soon and probably more than once. He will probably face multiple indictments spaced months apart to maximize damage.
