For traveling Noles this weekend, whatcha got?
Perhaps with a focus on ease of access in or near downtown.
Thanks!

Mostly downtown/cbd. If you're willing to venture out there are several more options.
Herbsaint
Compère Lapin
Bearcat CBD for Breakfast - Make reservations or be prepared to wait
Pêche
Cochon

Add Le Chat Noir to the list. Ate there while in town last time and it was phenomenal.

Thank you Mr. Spock and Bawwitdabaw!
I used to live there and have visited periodically, albeit not in the last 5 years.
Those are some good suggestions. And maybe these aren't around, or maybe an Uber or Trolley ride, but thoughts on...
GW Fins (know that exists)
Clancy's
Mother’s Restaurant
Domilise Sandwich Shop & Bar
Used to go for happy hour to the Hermes Bar at Antoine's. Same kitchen. Great food.
Central Grocery (Muffulettas).
If they wanted to go Uptown, certainly Commander's Palace (probably no reservations available?). Ride the trolley to The Camellia Grill?

DEFINITELY scratch Mother's
It fricking sucks, it is an absolute tourist trap that locals laugh uproariously at every time they see the line outside of clueless tourists.
I don't think Central Grocery has re-opened yet since Ida, have they?
Other than that its a solid but uninspired list
One thing to keep in my mind:
This weekend is also Southern Decadence Fest, which is NOLA's largest Gay Festival, and will completely takeover the FQ. If that isn't your thing, maybe go to restaurants not in the FQ. So I'd scratch GW Fins which I am not in love with anyway.
Peche is MUCH better and is seafood.
Also last thing:

It would be a long ride and streetcars are very unreliable but it would be a nice ride. College Inn on Carolloton is a good spot as well.

Still closed.
Hard to go wrong with any of the Brennan's restaurants, Mr B's Bistro being my fave...

Que?
GW Fins- Great but with decadence going on at same time may be overrun with partiers.
Clancy's- Solid
Mother’s Restaurant- No. Don't waste your time.
Domilise Sandwich Shop & Bar- Pretty good but I was more of a parkway fan.
Central Grocery (Muffulettas).- They may be still under construction from hurricane damage. Either way they haven't been the same since they stopped serving the muffalettas hot.

I’d get out of the downtown area and go to Clancys. Request upstairs, it’s much quieter.

Might help to post this on the food/drink board

Thanks all for the recommendations. More than enough for those going this weekend.

Some more casual places I'd recommend are:
Katie's
Pizza Domenica
Juan's Flying Burrito
Cannot go wrong with any of those and it won't break the bank.

Vincent's probably has some tables.
Mr. John's for steaks.
Brigsten's is unique and will impress.

I like Brennan’s for breakfast but with decadence may want to pass until Monday morning.
Desi Vegas or Doris Metropolitan for steaks.
Maybe Drip Affogato for some ice cream.

What’s your budget?
Was asking for some friends and boss that's going.
No budget really. One just got back from going to Commanders last night and raved about it, so clearly money isn't top of mind.
They're just looking for suggestions on "Quintessential New Orleans" type places to go. This thread has given us some great suggestions.
