Not surprised Cameron Crowe would have a few being a rock journalist early on connoisseur...though who knows if he picked this song as just the writer.

Always loved Jackson Browne's Somebody's Baby scene in Fastimes as well.

This could also be up for one of the best opening credit scenes ever. Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a' Changin" in Watchmen

Unfortunately the one that pops up in my head is the other song with Buffalo Bill.

Q. Lazarus - Wild Horse.... "Would you f*ck me? I'd f*ck me."

I actually like that song though

I thought putting Dear Mr. Fantasy during the Marvel page flipper before Avengers Endgame set the tone for the movie.

Always thought the final scene of Trainspotting was a masterclass of film and sound editing.

Trainspotting - Born Slippy

There are actually a lot of great song placements in this film, but these last few minutes are the best. Love how the beat picks up as Mark starts going for the briefcase and following through Begbie's destruction of the hotel room. And then the fadeout to the title card right as the song hits that flourishing synth. Total catharsis.

Head Over Heels by Tears For Fears in Donnie Darko

Good one. I'd have included it if I thought of it.

Interestingly enough, they've meddled with the music in Donnie Darko over time....not the scene you reference though.

quote:

Did they change the music in Donnie Darko?
In the 2004 director’s cut, a number of musical choices are changed. In the film’s opening, “The Killing Moon” by Echo & the Bunnymen is replaced by “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS. “The Killing Moon” later replaces “Under the Milky Way” by The Church during the party scene.
