I like the guy and always liked his roles because I knew the personality to expect. I like him in small doses but occasionally watching him in a role is fun. For instance I just picked up watching St. Vincent and thought it was a darn good movie.

He's the GOAT. Peter Venkman was my role model.

Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day were solidly in my must watch rotation every year as a young child.
Scrooged, What about Bob and Caddyshack were also watched every other year.
Then his role in Space Jam is pretty memorable as well.
I'd say he is one of the most influential(?) actors for my young filmwatching life.

Paging JW! JW is an industry guy and recently met him in a suite at a Mets game. He confirmed that Bill is a great guy. My GF lives in St Paul and I believe he owns (in part) the minor league St Paul Saints. I have only heard glowing things about him as a person. His career is legendary. Im 49 and he was a huge part of my growing up, looking back.

I'll watch anything he is in, usually multiple times. Even in a movie like Zombieland he stole the show.

His nephew (One of Bill’s brother’s son) dates my friend from LSU that now lives in Austin. She kicks it regularly with Bill and has a lot of admiration for him, nice guy, funny when needed, charismatic, etc.
Hell all those Murray bros are, her bf is pretty funny too, must admit. Smoked some weed with him at jazz fest once and had some laughs.
Bill is a fvckin’ living legend if you ask me.

He seems like a cool dude who's a hilarious actor. I always thought his best was Kingpin.

He's one of the most beloved actors of all time.
He's definitely in my top tier.

Agree. Big Ernie McCrakken (sp?) is the GOAT Bill Murray role.

Lost in Translation is one of the best movies of the last 20 years.

Some of my favorite Bill Murray roles are in Wes Anderson films

I've seen Bill Murray wear pants that no rational man would wear. But Bill Murray could wear them.

Him and John Daly would be fun blast to have over for Beers and a BBQ. I would just keep the games on mute.

Hands down winner by a mile, my favorite is The Razor's Edge a remake of the Tyrone Power version and much better. He consented to make Ghostbusters only if the studio would back him making Razor. I saw that in theaters when it came out and kept expecting him to crack a joke but he was very, very good playing it straight and the first time I'd seen him do that.
To me, his best lately that impressed me was On The Rocks (2020)

Don’t know much about him as a person, but he obviously had a lot of great films and roles in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Ghostbusters easily being the most iconic, IMO.
I teach middle school in a public school, BTW, and you can learn a lot about the influence of anything to do with pop culture by asking them questions. I think most would know Ghostbusters but probably not any of his other films.

His Rushmore performance is nothing sort of magical. I can watch it over and over.
I was lucky to work with him recently and also go to a Giants vs Raiders game in the owner's box with him and others. He has some health issues, but is still funny, kind and commands the room. It was a highlight for sure. And he made fun of me a little, which I appreciated.
