I disagree. I’m glad they rode with Brees. The best part about this team is it’s homegrown aspect. It’s more exciting to win a championship with your own core than to bring in mercenaries. I get that it didn’t happen, but the last 2 decades have been a fun ride.

frick Drew. I respect him as a football player, and am thankful for winning the SB.

However, he could have won 4782842 Super Bowls, and that doesn't mean I still have to respect him as a man. He's a pussy that bent the knee to the woke and turned his back on his own principles.

I don't respect men like that. No matter what they do in their professional life. Those things are mutually exclusive. Deal with it.

I'm confused. Didnt the Saints bring in Brees? He was a starter with the Chargers. Guess he was a mercenary as well.

Playing a few years for a team and then 15 for the Saints is not the same as 20 with another team and the last 2 or 3 with the Saints. Come on. You’re playing semantics.

We didn't draft Brees

If we won that last SB, our D would have been led by a FA (Davis)

Rams brought in a mercenary named Stafford and won a SB. That's the last 2 SB wins for two mercenaries.

Winston and Dalton are both career backups. Well at least Dalton got to the playoffs.

Dalton

Drew Brees with his “noodle arm” actually won a playoff game… Something Dalton has never done…

The disrespect towards Drew on this board is pathetic. He actually made us relevant and a respectable franchise. Without him our franchise could have moved. All he did was essentially bring a Detroit Lions level team to a Super Bowl and won the whole damn thing…

Not to mention statistically speaking very few QBs can even compare to Drew…

Come on now, you know you can post anything about Brees unless positive or your number in line to blow him.

Brees as a player was great, thankful for he did but he held on a bit too long.

What most people, including myself, don't like that he went against what he was "holler than thou" for when he did a 180 on his grandfather's legacy. For what 10 million a year, another year where what was left of his arm gave out and we ended up at home again? And he got fired from NBC after one year.

I watch games for my teams to win not the hooray speeches in the pregame and huddle

This isn’t true. He’s still under contract. Brees decided to step away for family life. The NBC sports chairman himself said this stuff.

Brees last 5 season the Saints had a top 5-10 defense. Brees should have retired the year Teddy Bridgewater started games and the team didn't miss a beat.

I think Bress and Payton got more concerned about Brees numbers than actual wins. There was some playoff games where Brees was bad.

Daltons arm isn’t considered strong, is it?

No, but compared to Brees' arm towards the end of his last 2 years, Dalton has a cannon. It was no secret that as the season wore on, Brees arm was not as sharp. Then add the wear & tear of getting hit/injured behind the line; of course a preseason Dalton will look like he has a much stronger arm.

The Saints will never sniff a Super Bowl with Winston at the helm.

Enjoy the former glory that Brees brought the franchise and post less.
