Gotcha, a law was broken that is illegal in all 50 states but nothing bad happen, so all good. Sorry for having a reasonable expectation for the law to be upheld. Race wasn't mentioned either, glad you could interject that as well, as if that should be a factor. Hear you loud and clear, NOLA gonna NOLA why are you complaining.

Hell, lets just go straight thunder dome as long as no one gets hurt.

The soft bigotry of low expectations. This is not in any way normal, and it's extremely dangerous for these kids. I guess it's no biggie since they're black.

My problem is many of you baws go to NO when you want certain things but then say the whole city should be blown up. And you came home safe. Nobody makes you go to a Saints game. Nobody makes you go to the LSU game in the dome. Baton Rouge has an airport, you don't have to fly out of MSY. But you do, then you say how bad the city is, even though the city just gave you something good.

NOLA gives me nothing, I go and pay for goods/services.

Nola depends on tourism, and we have consistently spent a fair amount of money annually - hotels, restaurants, concerts, furniture - in the city until recently. We have zero desire to go there under the current conditions.

So maybe be grateful so many people (used to) visit the city and pay taxes there. I absolutely expect a reasonable level of safety and support from local police.

All of this.

I am going to the LSU game next Sunday. Unfortunately it just happens to be in NO. In the past, I might have stayed a night, either Saturday or Sunday, and spent a few dollars in the city.

Instead, I will drive from BR on Sunday to where I get to the dome about 2 hours ahead of kickoff then drive home after the game. I have no desire to give that lawless shithole of a city any of my money. Y'all can keep the huge rats and crime to yourself. I prefer to spend my money in my own shithole of a city in BR

Leaving the saints open practice in the dome on Sunday, saw 15-20 citizens riding wheelies or dirt bikes and four wheelers….on the fricking interstate. Hauling arse in and around cars. I have never seen anything like that before. I’m glad I don’t have to go into that city often.

Years ago I saw that a similar thing late at night on the Van Wyck (I-678) going to JFK. No dirt bikes, but around 7-8 ATVs acting foolish with wheelies and such going down the interstate.

What in the actual frick are you even babbling about? First of all, I never said anything about blowing up the city. And secondly, I’m supposed to praise New Orleans because I got to fly from there? And how exactly did they ‘give me’ that? You’re certainly jumping to a shitload of conclusions. There was a time that I loved New Orleans. I’ve grown up on the northshore and lived here my entire life except when I went to LSU. I’m 43. The fact is, whether you want to admit it or not, New Orleans is no longer a desirable destination. To posit that everyone should ignore issues because of football is completely asinine. This is honestly one of the strangest gripes I’ve seen on this board in a while. I observed a large group of people riding illegally on the interstate and you think I should have said “that’s incredibly dangerous and someone could get killed due to those people doing something illegal, but I just got to watch the Saints practice, so I’ll hold my tongue.”

NOPD is emasculated from the Consent Decree. Thugs rule that city.

I used to see them riding down St Charles. Saw a dude popping a wheelie with his back parallel to the road with the bike straight in the air going like 40+. Lots of pedestrians on SCA. One frick up and his bike could come out from under him and kill somebody

I almost flattened a dude a few months ago in Houston going the wrong way up an exit ramp on a 4 wheeler in HTX. Usual suspects as you could imagine
